My doctor recommended MSD, saying they were the best—and he wasn’t kidding. I’m impressed by their expert knowledge and personalized service. They’re dedicated to finding the perfect machine and mask for your needs, taking all the time necessary to get you set up, answer questions, and ensure your comfort. Charlie, in particular, is fantastic and will make sure you get the best night’s sleep possible. This level of service is truly rare today. Thank you, Midwest Sleep Diagnostics!

Follow up after sleep study is pathetic. 27 days after study I had not received any information on the sleep study. I called to find out about report and express dissatisfaction with their turnaround. Their response was it is busy time of year and sorry I feel this is slow turnaround but they think it is fine. Cavalier approach to patient care is totally unacceptable. Took less than five minutes to verbally share the results. Requested they mail and email the study. Received email with attachment which I could not open…followed up with them about the problem and they are aware that patients may not be able to open files on cellphone. Another piece of evidence that quality customer experience means little to them. Told me there were three potential ways to resolve my borderline symptoms

Highly recommend. Everyone was fantastic. It has been a few months now, and I'm still very impressed by their customer service. That very much includes their thoroughness, friendliness, and the time they take to set you up for success. Just go and drastically change your quality of life in many ways. It did for me. I now only have less than 1 event per hour to 1.2, and at worst, 5 events per hour. But with the right mask, which they go all out to make sure you can get the right one for you, my avg is less than one to 1.2 events per hour. Health issues I chalked to to age or weight have begun healing themselves. It's amazing how much your body heals when it's not oxygen deprived while you sleep. A REAL life saver. BTW, I had over well over 70 events per hour before.

So far excellent! The great tech I dealt with spent probably an hour and a half, or MORE finding the right mask and fit, and went over SO much more. I felt he and the facility set me up for success. I have a severe case, and I need this solution. No choice if I actually care about my health. I felt they gave me those tools, rather than a more common, here's your machine, good luck, from what I hear. Lol One personal I talked to, said his place took 5 minutes and handed him a machine. Lol The office personnel were extremely friendly and kind as well. I will leave results. To be continued...

I got to tell you this place needs 10 stars if you could.. I did my test at home on 11/1.. Returned the equipment on 11/2. Buy 11/7 I got the results. Severe Sleep apnea.. Jill had someone drive to my doctors at St Lukes in person. They got the prescription buy noon. Jill called me and said can you get here by one. After Charlie took almost an hour to show me everything about and walked out the door by 2. This place cares about what the do and they go above and beyond to help people sleep. Thanks Jill, Charlie and Tiffany!!! . By the way, first time I have ever left a review to and business.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Midwest Sleep Diagnostics

What does Midwest Sleep Diagnostics do?

Midwest Sleep Diagnostics is a sleep medicine clinic in Manchester, MO that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Midwest Sleep Diagnostics?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Midwest Sleep Diagnostics directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Midwest Sleep Diagnostics?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Midwest Sleep Diagnostics?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
