The kind people here surely saved my life, I came into the urgent care because I'm asthmatic and could barely breathe, my inhaler wasnt helping anymore either. They didn't hesitate to get me back there instantly, get me on oxygen, give me breathing treatments and kept a very close eye on me the whole time. The issue ended up being much more serious than I thought and my lungs didn't want to open back up very easily. The respitory therapists and doctor didn't hesitate to transfer me upstairs to the hospital. I didn't think I was going to have this much of an issue and was complacent, but the entire staff was looking out for me more than I was myself and ensured I would be okay. The people here are also very kind, I've been to other hospitals but the kindness of the people here are unmatche

Do not go here. While visiting from out of state we brought our sick child in to be seen. The receptionist at the desk when asked specifically informed us that it was an urgent care visit. The care we received was decent. A few minutes with a nurse, a few minutes with a doctor then out the door with medical advice. Then the bill came. $424 for the doctor, $855 for a flu/covid test, $167 for a strep test and $268 for urgent care service for a total of $1,714. When I called to inquire about the bill I was told that is just how it is structured. After escalating the call I was told a billing manager would review the bill and call back but no one called. It is unfortunate that medical centers take advantage of vulnerable people with no recourse available other that poor reviews to warn others.

Went to the ER a couple of nights ago with terrible pain. My nurse, Will (Wilson), was spectacular and managed my care so well. He made me feel better and kept me company throughout my stay. Had the best care from him and was grateful that I was able to be discharged shortly after.

I moved to the Minocqua area about a year ago, and this was my first time in a hospital in many years. I was a little nervous, especially since it’s a smaller local hospital, but Marshfield Medical Center in Minocqua completely exceeded my expectations. Everyone I interacted with, from the front desk to the nurses and doctors, was kind, professional, and made me feel at ease. They took the time to explain everything clearly and genuinely listened, which meant a lot to me. The hospital is clean, modern, and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I feel truly lucky to have such a wonderful facility nearby. Thank you to the entire team for turning what could have been a stressful experience into something so positive and reassuring!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Marshfield Medical Center Minocqua Sleep Lab
What does Marshfield Medical Center Minocqua Sleep Lab do?
Marshfield Medical Center Minocqua Sleep Lab is a sleep medicine clinic in Minocqua, WI that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Marshfield Medical Center Minocqua Sleep Lab?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Marshfield Medical Center Minocqua Sleep Lab directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Marshfield Medical Center Minocqua Sleep Lab?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Marshfield Medical Center Minocqua Sleep Lab?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
