I went in for an Urgent Care visit and everyone I dealt with was on the ball and I got prompt care. I was having some trouble outside my visit that had to do with getting transportation home - a long trip and we were in the thick of winter storms. Dealing with the bureaucracy of my medical rides transport triggered a situation for me where brain damage causes me to lose all ability to communicate verbally. Staff really helped me and went above and beyond helping me with something that could have been shrugged off as not really their issue. I'd give more stars if I could.

Dr Patel was rude, disrespectful, and arrogant. He refused to treat my crisis level blood pressure then lied about it in my medical records. Howard Young covered it up even though I had photographic images to the contrary. Patient relations is a joke and so was the bogus letter I received by the person claiming to be a "medical director". They refuse to give me license numbers or contact info to file a formal report, which in itself is illegal. Bravo Howard Young! Here's to patient care at its best!

The ER staff is really hot or miss, I will say the recently added ER Dr staff is better than the ones that have been there for a few years.

I have been too a few different hospitals and this one really sets the bar. Not only are they all so friendly, they will take the time to talk to you and listen to you vent while caring for whatever your need may be. I just want to thank you in you all from the bottom of my heart. I really appreciate the care and how professional each and every one of you are. My sincere apology for leaving AMA cause of a family emergency: I trust this facility 100% and when I need care again, I will trust you to keep me going. God bless you all.

I brought my husband to the Urgent Care at Aspirus/Howard Young on January 1,2025. Kato,RN, called his name and we both stood up to go back and she loked at me and stated "I'll come get you once I have him settled in" which didn't make sense as there was nothing foe him to be settled in for. After sitting in the waiting room 20 minutes I texted my husband and asked if he was OK. He texted back yes and said that, the doctor had been in to see him and that he was waiting for pain meds. At 39 minutes after he had been taken back to the room, one of the receptionist at the desk told me that she could take me back now. I informed her that as a nurse of 44 years I was taught that you never lie to a patient or their family and that as his advocate and care givee this was totally unacceptable. Upo

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Howard Young Medical Center Sleep Lab

What does Howard Young Medical Center Sleep Lab do?

Howard Young Medical Center Sleep Lab is a sleep medicine clinic in Woodruff, WI that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Howard Young Medical Center Sleep Lab?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Howard Young Medical Center Sleep Lab directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Howard Young Medical Center Sleep Lab?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Howard Young Medical Center Sleep Lab?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
