Came in for some serious things in the e.r. Wasn’t taken serious at all. Was gaslighted, not listened to or understood by dr Gomez I believe was his name. Felt so unseen and unheard. Had horrible anxiety the entire time after that and gave up fighting what didn’t feel good and just ended up saying okay and then eventually left because I know I wasn’t being believed or listened too even though something ended up really being wrong with me days later because he didn’t listen. Really disappointed I thought this place was different from other times coming here but this made me realize it’s not. On top of I heard people behind the desk outside my room laughing at me and talking about me and the e.r was empty other than just me. So that was a great feeling to have this experience. For being an older hospital, it's nice. I really like looking at the birds that are in the enclosure near the gift shop. I had a sleep study done here (very hot in the room though) and being nervous about what to expect, I didn't eat dinner the night before. It would have been nice to know the hours of the cafe because I had planned on getting breakfast when I woke up (because I was very hungry) and eating while I waited for my ride. Also the vending machine wouldn't work for me, could be user error though, and there were no more cups for coffee in the lobby. Staff I encountered were friendly. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to let sleep study patients know there would be a shower facility available in the restroom across front the sleep lab. There's all this gunk in my hair from

My wife went to ER on a Sunday with bad stomach pain, nausea, and light headed. Whole experience was terrible. Staff left her sitting for 4 hours without checking on her other than to take her for a cat scan which she needed an ultrasound but told us they were not able to perform one. 5 staff members spent the 4 hours we were there playing games on the there computers laughing and joking and having a great time. At one point another worker walked by and stated must be nice to be able to play games all night while im working and was replied to with laughter and what else are we supposed to do. Reluctantly used the bathroom with has urine all over the floor and on a table in the bathroom was a bed pan half full of yellow urine just sitting there waiting to be cleaned up. Aspire rural hospital Marlette, has gotten worse. Cannot send lab testing to quest diagnostics anymore.. when aspire bills insurance for lab work, always outrageously more expensive out of pocket, then quest diagnostics… Having options in healthcare is crucial for balancing cost, coverage, and care quality. This rural hospitals lab, is not patient friendly, will be going elsewhere. Aspire- Profits > patient care

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Marlette Regional Hospital Sleep Lab

What does Marlette Regional Hospital Sleep Lab do?

Marlette Regional Hospital Sleep Lab is a sleep medicine clinic in Marlette, MI that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Marlette Regional Hospital Sleep Lab?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Marlette Regional Hospital Sleep Lab directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Marlette Regional Hospital Sleep Lab?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Marlette Regional Hospital Sleep Lab?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
