This rating is for that horrible so called manager Nadia, her behavior is beyond disgusting and extremely unprofessional. I was leaving a different appt and I could hear her screaming to the top of her lungs firing an employee (I spoke with the young lady and confirmed she was wrongfully terminated). What makes matters worse is there were patients in the office for their appts, if that doesn’t scream unethical behavior at a work place I don’t know what does. I was informed she is racist to the fullest extent not only towards employees but patients as well. Whoever owns this company should be ashamed of who he/she allows to run this business. I will be putting in a complaint to the BBB, do not support this business as a POC.

****UPDATE: The staff and the practitioner that worked with me was great. Everyone was very nice and I felt the doctor really listened to me. I can see the passion she has for this field and it made me feel even more comfortable that she was genuinely concerned and came up with an amazing treatment plan. I never realized how much my asthma would affect my life and career after meeting with Practitioner Diaz, I see now how importance it is to have someone like her on my side. I still left 1 star off because the new patient thing is weird, but the staff and the practice was overall great and will be going back. ****ORIGINAL REVIEW: Never heard of new patients having to make a portal first, then WAIT for almost 3-4 days (72hrs) for someone to reach you to book an appointment. This is very inc

I have been treating with Dr. Omais for a number of years now. He is thorough, knowledgeable, patient and easy to understand. He shows sincere care and concern for his patients. I would highly recommend him to anyone in my family or to my friends. His staff is wonderful.

This was my first visit. The staff were truly friendly and courteous and were efficient at their job. Doc. Omais was very thorough and communicated very well. He is very approachable and amiable person. He listens to and answers questions. He filled in the blanks where maybe I wasn’t so thorough with my own inquiry so that I could fully understand my health issue. I am convinced that he is very competent and l left with a feeling of confidence that he can help me as well, if not better than, anyone in his field.

Everyone is very pleasant and professional in this clinic. The wait period was pretty short, considering I was a new patient and arrived a little late. The nurse was very attentive. The Dr. took his time and asked a lot of questions to go over my medical history. I didn't feel rushed at all. Very professional! I definitely recommend this clinic and Dr. Omais.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Lung and Sleep Institute, LLC

What does Lung and Sleep Institute, LLC do?

Lung and Sleep Institute, LLC is a sleep medicine clinic in White Plains, MD that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Lung and Sleep Institute, LLC?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Lung and Sleep Institute, LLC directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Lung and Sleep Institute, LLC?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Lung and Sleep Institute, LLC?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
