Hi, I wanted to leave a positive review and feedback about the ER staff and doctor who cared for my son and my family yesterday. We came in very scared because my son was dizzy and there was concern after imaging that something serious might be wrong. The doctor treated us with kindness, patience, and respect the entire time. When I became overwhelmed and nearly passed out from panic and fear, the staff stayed with me, helped calm me down, and even gave me anti-nausea medicine while making sure I was okay. They never made us feel judged or rushed. What stood out to me most was the compassion they showed my wife and children. The hospital even arranged for a nurse to personally help pick up my wife so I could stay with the other kids. That level of humanity meant a lot to our family during

My issue is not with the Dr's or Np's. It's with the fact I have waited 10 weeks for my xrays to be read. They still have no results. So inturn I have had no treatment. My appointments have been rescheduled. This is completely unacceptable.

Both the ER and inpatient staff have been amazing with my 90 year old mother. She had a quadruple whammy with COVID, Flu A, pneumonia and a slight heart attack, on top of her baseline dementia and limited vision. They have treated her respectfully, have been quick to address every need, and have given me the peace of mind knowing she is in safe care. She will stay for another week of physical and occupational therapy. No one ever hopes for a hospital stay, but if I ever need one, I would come here first.

This is the WORST hospital I've ever been to. I wouldn't take a dog to this incompetent. Constant mistakes.

My experience here was good, so I thought. Cut my knee pretty bad at the river and came here since it was closest. Dr stitched me right up and sent me on my way. Without any antibiotics given. Next day, high fever and back to the ER. Turns out it was infected and possibly developing necrotizing fasciitis. Had to be transferred to another hospital and went through hell. So if anything happens and you’re out that way, don’t go here just because it’s the closest option, you’ll be dealing with it for a while after.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Iron County Medical Center
What does Iron County Medical Center do?
Iron County Medical Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Pilot Knob, MO that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Iron County Medical Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Iron County Medical Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Iron County Medical Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Iron County Medical Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
