The emergency room did great until it was time to follow up on why the pharmacy hasn’t received my prescription 7 1/2 hours after I was discharged. I called the ER all they could say is it’s pending!! Pending what?!? Oh, I don’t know it just says pending.

I took my dad to this facility in January and he was treated like a dog along with the rest of my family. We were amazed at how unprofessional staff behaved. No one at the facility was willing to help us. We were in the emergency room for hours. We ended up being discharged at 3 AM. A few weeks later while being transported, my dad passed away and was taken to your facility where he was pronounced dead. This time staff took their time contacting the funeral home. Today I received a bill from your facility. The man had nothing hence why we were trying to obtain support from every possible angle with zero results. All I can say is you people have the audacity to call yourself a hospital. This used to be a rather nice facility, but how times have changed. So in closing I’d like to say take yo

It is astonishing the difference between the surgery center professionalism and the lack of respect and care in the ER The ER TEAM APPEARS TO HAVE NEVER RESTED AND THEY lack any level of energy! They are so rude and argumentative Please review your films and video in the ER TO MAKE CHANGES THE nurses and staff could learn a lot from the team in the surgery center. Your front office this Sunday is a team that should probably take a vacation. Still waiting after two hours and there was no one in the waiting room when I entered

My experience at GRMC was the best hospital experience I've ever had. The nurses are amazing. They answered every question I had with patience and kindness. The doctors diagnosed my emergency quickly and dealt with it immediately. I'm so glad to know that this hospital is in our community.

I'm addressing specifically the Infusion Center at Gila Regional Medical Center. After almost three months of working with my specialist in Albuquerque, I finally got into the infusion center (no fault of theirs or my Albuquerque doctor that it took so long). I was on my LAST day to have a critical shot. The two nurses at the Infusion Center were AMAZING! My biggest concern with GWMC is that from what I have seen and heard, it lacks critical strategic communications and customer service skills. The two nurses in the Infusion Center had both and were excellent! They even scheduled out my next appointment without me asking. The flipside? Three times more expensive for the shot here than anywhere else even for someone insured.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Gila Regional Medical Center Sleep Lab

What does Gila Regional Medical Center Sleep Lab do?

Gila Regional Medical Center Sleep Lab is a sleep medicine clinic in Silver City, NM that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Gila Regional Medical Center Sleep Lab?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Gila Regional Medical Center Sleep Lab directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Gila Regional Medical Center Sleep Lab?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Gila Regional Medical Center Sleep Lab?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
