Took my daughter to the Emergency Room at 2am. She was triaged quickly and called back quickly too. She was immediately met by a male nurse asked her for a urine sample which we already expected. Sample was give and NOTHING ELSE was done for over 3 hours. No one came to check on us or give any updates. When I finally mentioned something we were met with unprofessional answers and attitude as well as a lack of concern. ANOTHER 2 hours pass and now I’m livid, I again address the fact that we are now here 5 hours without anyone doing anything or coming in with any updates. She’s in excruciating pain and been crying the whole time and no one had concern. We didn’t see the physician until 15 minutes before shift change at 7am. So now we’re waiting for everyone to leave and come in and prepare t

Construction is a pain in the butt trying to get to the parking deck. I was appalled at the so called cafeteria. This is the first hospital cafeteria I've been to that had NO decent food!. The option was some Mexican whatever, sandwiches where you got one slice of cheese and 2 slices of ham. The salads were dry. So for one ham and cheese sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, bottled water and bottled ice tea came to $17! Shame on you! AND the server, a young girl was very rude. I wanted to slap some manners in her. Overall, the care my elderly dad is getting is exceptional. Work on your cafeteria.

Honestly this place is a joke, first time parent here, . My little boy that was 2 months old had a fever and it wasn’t going down . Obviously there’s a certain dosage they can be processed at that age of so I wasn’t gonna risk it especially after he’s been so much when he was born , with a collapsed lungs . We tried everything on our end at the best of our knowledge before going to see a “ professional”. We came early in the morning. And the beginning of the visit front staff was ok . But once they took us in the back for my son to get looked at . This one doctor or nurse or whatever he classifies himself of Asian or Japanese background not entire sure his nationality. Told my fiancée and myself, not to come into the hospital for something as a temperature that indicates a fever . Clearly

The nurse tried to get me to sign an AMA because as Geisinger south fashion they have zero professionalism and or care. Left waiting in a bruised tail bone and injury to arm they had me sit and wait for over 2 hours then after I left went into my chart to try and assign an X-ray to cover their butts because they didn’t even enter it in prior which is all documented. The violation of HIPPA is ridiculous several patients went ahead when I was there for hours they don’t keep the facility clean and the RN KAYLA didn’t come to check on me not a single time I never met her only the short rude white lady with black medium hair who threatened the AMA

Urgent care Pediatric nurses and doctor tonight 2/3/26 were awesome! You can tell they genuinely love working with kids and love their job. Very patient, thorough , supportive and kind. In a world where not enough health professionals care, these ladies are the best. Not everyone may have the same experience as I did, and that’s ok. However with a little bit of kindness it goes a long way. Change your mindset into more positive thinking and more positive will come into your life people(parents), for anyone that has anything negative to the staff. Do not project how you feel to the healthcare staff. Ladies at gswb continue kicking butt and making our little munchkins lives better one patient at a time!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre
What does Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre do?
Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre is a sleep medicine clinic in Wilkes-Barre, PA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
