We came here when my husband needed pain management after a tooth was removed & the dentist forgot to send in a prescription. The emergency staff is very caring & friendly, (obviously wait time varies) our wait was about 5 minutes & the entry/waiting area is very clean & comfortable. We ended up returning months later when more tooth pain started & just like the first time, everything was fast & simple! We were seen very quickly @ 1pm on a Sunday & we were in & out within 40 minutes & the Walgreens in Rochester is thankfully open 24 hours, so no need to wait until 9am for meds! Thank you Frisbie!!

My first experience at Frisbie Hospital was terrific! The receptionist at the entrance was friendly, professional and welcoming. My time in the Endoscopy section was equally pleasant. The nurses and other staff were warm and welcoming as well as professional. The prep room was new, spotless and comfortable and even had a personal toilet! No hiking down the hall in a Jonnie! The procedure went well and the OR staff was great. I was very impressed with the entire experience!

I was seen at Advanced orthopedics in Gulford. It was my first meeting with Dr Lapinski. I've seen many many doctors, Dr Lapinski was wonderful. He listened with compassion was very informative, somewhat soft spoken and clearly very educated. I would recommend him highly! I will be seeing him again soon and I'm sure I will have the same response (hopefully).

Quintessentially helpful but please don’t have medics put a two pound paint can on my late wife’s ipad. When that weight appears it could be (and likely was) five or six pounds on a glass device case. My health means a lot but so do her belongings. Can you just have teams put electronics away safely in someone else’s home? Or I assume they put the can on top to wheel me out?

My blood draw was quick, easy and professional. The nurse was courteous and friendly. I have had problems with them drawing blood because of my veins shrinking (age related) but this go.was a much nicer experience.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Frisbie Memorial Hospital

What does Frisbie Memorial Hospital do?

Frisbie Memorial Hospital is a sleep medicine clinic in Rochester, NH that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Frisbie Memorial Hospital?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Frisbie Memorial Hospital directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Frisbie Memorial Hospital?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Frisbie Memorial Hospital?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
