Update: Shortly after posting the review, I received a call from a senior representative at Focus Sleep Center. Following a productive conversation, it became clear that a variety of circumstances contributed to the issues that led to my initial concerns. Based on this discussion, I believe the company is genuinely committed to doing right by its patients and is actively striving to improve its processes over time. I assured the representative that I would continue our patient provider relationship and looked forward to their service in the future. This establishment appears to operate primarily as a high-volume processing facility focused on patient throughput and insurance billing. They consistently fail to answer phone calls or return messages. They misleadingly assure patients of prio

I would have gave a higher score if I received the proper care. The tech staff at night were courteous, friendly, and helpful. However, the second sleep study was not great. I informed the day scheduling staff for my second sleep study with CPAC that I had an allergic reaction to gel that is used during my first sleep study in May 2025. The gel burnt my skin in several spots on my face. She informed to me that they had another alternative. However, that was not true! When I made it to the center, they had not used the other alternative (tape) in several years. This was back in July 2025. My doctor and myself have made several attempts to get another second study with CPAC to no avail. They have yet to return my calls or my doctor calls. I do not recommend this facility. I’m still having iss

You can never get anyone on the phone, they never return a call, I was supposed to be seen in December, but company transferred me away from the area now when I tried to get my supplies, I need prescription but cannot get anyone on the phone to advise me of what we need to do. While I still need my supplies I have to pay out of pocket to make sure I get my supplies as needed. I would not suggest this place in anyway.

Just spoke with the owner of the company who took care of a copay issue to our satisfaction. I appreciate that the owner is making changes to improve the customer service experience. The telephone system has greatly improved since my last call for assistance in November 2025.

My gosh, what does it take to get someone to answer the phone? I was eager to pay them money and get a sleep study done, but I called every day for 4 days, multiple times a day, left multiple voice mails. All I ever got was a text message that said they would call me soon to schedule but then no further responses to any other text messages. I guess I'll have to take my business somewhere else since they don't seem to need/want it.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Focus Sleep Centers

What does Focus Sleep Centers do?

Focus Sleep Centers is a sleep medicine clinic in Southaven, MS that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Focus Sleep Centers?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Focus Sleep Centers directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Focus Sleep Centers?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Focus Sleep Centers?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
