Sean was the perfect technician. He made me feel completely comfortable. I slept like a baby. The building & rooms are immaculate. The mattress was very high quality & I’m positive that I slept better than I do at home.

I will start off by saying the office staff are polite. However, the organization of the facility is a hot mess. We had an 1130am appt, arrived 15 min early. Sat and waited, and waited, and waited. After 45 min, finally get called back for nurse to take vitals and ask questions. She took vitals, then had to leave the room to get computer, to come back and ask questions. Questions we could have filled out while sitting in the lobby for 45 min. Then she takes us to another room to wait for the doctor and after another 30 min, we left. I understand some docs get behind, but this was beyond nuts. I cannot comment on the doctor cause we never got to see him or her. Apparently they overbooked themselves at our expense.

STAY AWAY FROM EXCELLHEALTH!! The people working here are inept & held my CPAP test results so my new sleep specialist doctor couldn't move forward with my medical insurance provider & every phone call with them they were very unprofessional and it was hard to hear & understand them as multiple women were talking in the background. I had an 11:30am appointment and they called early that morning and asked if I could come in at 8:45am for a 9am appointment. I sat in the waiting office for over 30 minutes until they saw me. After giving me a take home CPAP test they wanted to do a video call to tell me the results and them made me decide what kind of mask I wanted without letting me try any on. They then called a week later and stated that I owed $390 for the CPAP machine when my insurance co

Naturally I was a little anxious and nervous going through my first over night sleep study however my qualms were quickly dissolved by the sleep tech assisting me throughout the process. Shawn is the man. He streamlined the entire process for me and made sure my comfort was a priority. Basically if u had any worries calling in for your first appointment, don't. I'm on my way to better sleep and a lasting relationship with the staff and faculty of this establishment. Thanks again Shawn for your hard work and dedication. 👏 🙌 🙏

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Excellhealth Sleep Center
What does Excellhealth Sleep Center do?
Excellhealth Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Overland Park, KS that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Excellhealth Sleep Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Excellhealth Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Excellhealth Sleep Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Excellhealth Sleep Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
