The closing of this office is wrong. It's a corporate decision not one based on good health care for this community. As a patient I have been helped by some of the finest health care providers here. From Drs, nurses staff they have done their best. Yes this is my thank you to them! With pulmonary sarcoidosis there is a need for stability ,education and good health choices miss Megan moore helped me with all those. I was able to face my future with less anxiety. Gadsden regional please help these men and woman stay in our community thru providing offices so we can continue seeing these people. These people gave exemplary care to our community. It's our lost but think of your bottom line it's your lost too . In pr, and good health care for the people that you service. Thank you .. Patric

I was having a very bad morning That day I was running late because our trucks brake's went out on us on our way there and I was in a tremendous amount of pain and I was having a hard time breathing that morning already. When we got there my husband parked at the wrong building and I had to walk across the yard to the right building. When I walked in the doctor's office they were so accommodating, they could tell i was having a hard time and they told me to just sit down and take a breath and I could do my paper work when I felt better I was already in tears but they made me feel so welcome and so much better. I can't say enough good about them ☆☆☆☆☆ for sure

On the morning of 1/26/26 I had an appointment @ 8:00 a.m. It was below freezing and snowing as I walked across the parking lot. I went upstairs and after waiting 20 minutes decided they weren't coming in due to the weather, although I had zero issues getting there on time myself. About 12:45 that afternoon, I get a text saying my appointment was cancelled. Um, yeah, no joke. You can't tell me there isn't a way to have that automated text sent remotely when the office is going to be closed. They didn't show up & I was just out an hours pay at work. If I didn't show up, they would probably charge ME a no show fee. Will not be rescheduling due to the lack of respect. Edit: No thank you, you've wasted enough of my time already.

I adore Stephanie Moore. She is my usual provider. She has really gone above and beyond to help me get what I need to prevent my lung disease from progressing.

Anytime we call the office no one ever answers! My mother has an appointment we’ve tried rescheduling but no one answers or ever returns our calls even after leaving multiple voicemails. My mother went there today to reschedule her appointment and was told she wasn’t a patient there and that she couldn’t be found in the system. She’s seen Stephanie Moore, NP multiple times which I ridiculous. Something has to be fixed.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Etowah Pulmonology

What does Etowah Pulmonology do?

Etowah Pulmonology is a sleep medicine clinic in Gadsden, AL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Etowah Pulmonology?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Etowah Pulmonology directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Etowah Pulmonology?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Etowah Pulmonology?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
