Finding the actual office and parking lot was a bit of a hassle. Google maps takes you on the street next to the office but it wants you to go down a one way road. I had to go around the block and enter the parking lot. Besides that, my experience was excellent! The nurse was very friendly, informative, and helpful. The building itself was alittle older but everything was modernized within the office itself (located on the second floor). I initially thought I would have to sleep in a hospital type room, but no, they made the room feel like a very comfy hotel room, equip with Netflix, Amazon prime, and some other streaming services. Being hooked up to all the equipment wasn't that bad plus I felt like I was even able to get comfortable with all the nodes attached to my body. This study was

The place was very easy to find. Nichole was super nice and helpful. She called me a few hours before my appointment and let me know if I had any questions I could call her. She also made the process very simple and was easy to talk to while she hooked up all the wired. By the time she was done explaining the process, I didn’t have any questions and felt very comfortable. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend my friends and family to this place.

Did my first ever sleep study here and the process was super smooth and comfortable. The wires and straps didn’t feel that bad and I got used to them after a little. It was harder to fall asleep than normal but that’s normal for sleeping somewhere unfamiliar, at the end of it all it felt like staying overnight in a hotel! Michelle was my tech and she was great. Super responsive and made sure I was all comfortable.

I previously did this test at a different sleep center and I had a rough time. The process felt very mechanical in nature. When I was informed that I would be doing this again I was not very pleased. I was literally dreading this testing on my drive to the facility. That all changed from the moment my technician Michelle called me to assist me with any questions I may have with directions. She was genuinely a positive and pleasant person. I cannot overstate enough how she took my stress and tossed it into the trash can. She answered every question of mine in great detail, she was very patient with me as I nervously ran my mouth, and she gave me a ton of reassurance that everything would go fine. Although I had my reservations and in my head I was almost certain I would tear away a

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Dream Sleep Centre
What does Dream Sleep Centre do?
Dream Sleep Centre is a sleep medicine clinic in Del Mar, CA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Dream Sleep Centre?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Dream Sleep Centre directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Dream Sleep Centre?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Dream Sleep Centre?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
