I was referred to this practice from my ENT for sleep apnea, and me not wanting to use a CPAP. Dental Sleep Solutions offers dental appliances for sleep apnea (and perhaps other services). These appliances help keep your lower jaw forward to keep your airways open. Sheri, Tara and Dr. Evans were great. They are very transparent about insurance, cost and walk you through every step of the process and how the dental appiances work. They do a very thorough exam and are extremely adept in their specialty. I went with the Panthera dental sleep appliance. Follow-up visits were included for 90 days (at no additional cost) and it was very clear they care about their patients and their success. I would highly recommend anyone consider dental appliances for sleep apnea via Dental Sleep Solut

I have mild sleep apnea and snoring! Had a very thorough evaluation with Dr. Evans, she fitted me with an oral appliance and snoring improved significantly. It takes a while to get used to the device, but once you tolerate it, the benefits are worth it! Great service from all the staff who work at Dental Sleep Solutions.

I have a history of sleepless nights, averaging about 4-5 hours/night. Dealing with chronic fatigue and brain fog was debilitating. There is a sleep doctor co-located with my family doctor. I finally decided to schedule a visit. The results of the sleep study showed a mild case of sleep apnea. This is a consequence of aging (menopause). I was a candidate for a dental appliance. I was directed to Dental Sleep Solutions in McKinney. I called the office and spoke with Cheri who provided good information regarding insurance and expectations for the initial visit. She was extremely informative and open to all questions. Meetings with Tara and Dr. Evans were handled professionally with no pressure. I had already been wearing a mouth guard due to clenching, so I was open to this device

Recently I had an appointment with Dental Sleep Solutions in McKinney as I was interested in obtaining a medical dental appliance for sleep apnea. I was using a CPAP machine but never could get used to that medical torture machine! Dr. Evens explained how the dental appliance I was asking about would be wonderful for me as it was just a medical device that is fitted for my mouth. After she thoroughly explained to me everything about the dental device I was interested in, I was sold to get one. Tara and Cheri made all of the necessary arrangements with my insurance and explained to me everything about the office. Dr. Evans, started measuring my mouth and went into more detail about this dental device. Everything I ever wanted to know and needed to know was fully explained to me. I wa

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Frequently asked questions about Dental Sleep Solutions of Greenville & McKinney
What does Dental Sleep Solutions of Greenville & McKinney do?
Dental Sleep Solutions of Greenville & McKinney is a sleep medicine clinic in McKinney, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Dental Sleep Solutions of Greenville & McKinney?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Dental Sleep Solutions of Greenville & McKinney directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Dental Sleep Solutions of Greenville & McKinney?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Dental Sleep Solutions of Greenville & McKinney?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
