Please avoid this practice. I have had the same experience as what seems like many others. I had two telemedicine appointments in 2023, one of them being when I had 2 insurance providers. The practice made a billing mistake where supposedly somehow they didn’t successfully bill it to ANY insurance — and they never informed me of this until OVER TWO YEARS LATER in 2025. They claim that I owe them $500 for this appointment, and now it’s “too late to fix it with insurance”, even though it is very clearly a billing mistake on their part. I called back and forth with them over a dozen times over the last year, and they keep calling me, and each person I talk to doesn’t seem to have any record of the prior conversations we’ve had about this. I’ve also called back and forth with my insurance co

Go to another practice. I have been trying to get a prescription for a new cpap for several months. I went in and the tech told me there was nothing wrong with my 10 year old cpap, but he could sell me a new one. They only seem to want to sell them and not write scripts for them. Every time I call to speak to someone in the office, I get stuck talking to someone in a foreign call center who will only put in a message for me. It wouldn't be so bad if I ever got a call back the half a dozen times I've called in weeks. The people at this practice don't care at all about patients, they are just there to sell things. Every time I've gone to them for an appointment it's a different doctor, they keep telling me all these doctors keep leaving their practice. They obviously are very good.

For both me and my partner they have: 1. stopped sending supplies 2. Charge for appoints neither of us have actually had 3. Try to scam you and your insurance out of extra sleep studies 4. Refuse to read machines remotely 5. Extremely poor communication. I'm starting to feel like this place is a scam. Find a different provider.

I had an initial appointment scheduled for 11:15am and wasn't seen by Noon. I'm generally a little more patient but the office sends multiple calls, texts etc prior to appointment. Given these circumstances I shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes beyond my appointment for just an initial consultation.

Sleep apnea and CPAPs are common. Find another provider. This one is more of a PITA than they are worth. The staff and doctors at the location are great. The medical practice management is horrendous. Out of the dozen other medical providers that I use in NOVA, this practice is the only one that cannot get their billing correct - for years of being a patient with the same equipment. Additionally, their customer service is poor. I attempted to call the corporate listed number on the website multiple times to speak with an office manager or supervisor to discuss my issues. Each time, management/supervisor refused to talk to me on the telephone.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Comprehensive Sleep Care Center - Alexandria Facility
What does Comprehensive Sleep Care Center - Alexandria Facility do?
Comprehensive Sleep Care Center - Alexandria Facility is a sleep medicine clinic in Alexandria, VA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Comprehensive Sleep Care Center - Alexandria Facility?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Comprehensive Sleep Care Center - Alexandria Facility directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Comprehensive Sleep Care Center - Alexandria Facility?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Comprehensive Sleep Care Center - Alexandria Facility?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
