On July 17th my 2.5 year old son suffered a facial laceration to the bridge of his nose spanning almost 1.5" (for a tiny nose that is a large gash). I was at home alone, with my 2.5 year old and my 15 month old son. From the moment I called 911 to the moment we got to take our boy home from his first surgery I have not a single complaint. Station 114 paramedics were so kind and comforted my son tremendously. RN Emily G was so kind and did an amazing job at helping us feel comfortable and reassuring us that our son was going to receive the best care possible and followed it up with actions. The other RN we worked with (I believe your name was Mikayla or Michelle, im so sorry) was also amazing, she came right in and connected with our son and made him feel comfortable. Children’s Hospital will always hold a special place in our hearts. My daughter spent 18 months there, and during that time, the doctors, nurses, NICU and PICU teams, specialists, social workers, Child Life team, and support staff became like family to us. They took incredible care of my medically fragile child through some of the hardest and scariest moments of our lives. They saved her life multiple times, and we will never be able to fully express our gratitude for the skill, compassion, and dedication they showed every single day. The nurses and medical teams were fantastic. They were not only clinically excellent, but deeply empathetic and attentive. They always made us feel listened to, respected, and included in her care. The doctors and specialists graciously answered our mi

My baby had to go the the ER and was later admitted to in-patient care. Every staff member we met along the way was kind and helpful and I felt they cared about the well-being of my child. The facility is also very nice. 10/10

Children's is a great hospital with kind, compassionate, and incredibly thorough staff. Every provider I've encountered has taken the time to deliver individualized, high-quality care, and that level of attention is something I truly appreciate. Where I believe there is room for improvement is in their patient flow and overall processes to reduce wait times. The hospital seems to create its own bottleneck when many urgent care locations close between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m., causing a large influx of patients into the emergency department. I think implementing surge staffing during peak hours, along with a fast-track or provider-in-triage model using physician assistants or nurse practitioners, could help move lower-acuity patients through the system more efficiently. Even simple evaluations

Other than the hospital the coffee shop upstairs is small and offers very little things like real sit down foods compared to other hospitals in the state. Service was nice but business was slow I couldn't stop getting the vibe if they were moving in or moving out of shop and closing their business.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Children's Hospital Colorado Sleep Lab-Colorado Springs

What does Children's Hospital Colorado Sleep Lab-Colorado Springs do?

Children's Hospital Colorado Sleep Lab-Colorado Springs is a sleep medicine clinic in Colorado Springs, CO that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Children's Hospital Colorado Sleep Lab-Colorado Springs?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Children's Hospital Colorado Sleep Lab-Colorado Springs directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Children's Hospital Colorado Sleep Lab-Colorado Springs?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Children's Hospital Colorado Sleep Lab-Colorado Springs?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
