Overall, I had a good experience. The ultrasound technician was professional, kind, and made me feel comfortable throughout the exam. However, the front desk staff could benefit from additional customer service training. A more welcoming and professional approach would greatly improve the overall patient experience.

For the surgery center Suite 101: The building is very nice and seems almost new despite being there awhile. Had to wait quite a bit in the waiting room but afterwards my entire procedure was flawless. The entire staff was so kind and considerate. The docs were very nice and down to earth and made me feel very comfortable. They told me for the entire procedure my stay would be 2 1/2 to 3 hours but I felt like I was in and out. I highly recommend.

Subject: Completely Unacceptable Negligence – Immediate Action Required I have been trying to get my prescription filled for 10 days, and your office has completely failed to respond. I have left several messages, and CVS has also contacted you multiple times. It is unbelievable that your staff cannot even be bothered to check the answering machine or return a simple call. This level of incompetence from your office is shocking. If you cannot handle basic patient care, you should clearly say so. I am seriously considering changing doctors because your staff is not doing their job at all. I need Levothyroxine every single day. I have now gone three days without my medication because your office has ignored every message and request. This is a serious health issue, and your negligence is

Very poor experience - we made an appointment for an ultrasound for my son, and we took the day off as the appointment was in the middle of the day. When we got there, they enrolled us (we were 20 minutes early, but the receptionist tried telling us we were late, but we stood firm), shortly after the technician comes and tells us she won't be able to conduct the procedure as it takes 2 hours, and she had only one hour, and said we need to reschedule. We took a day for this, and she was so casual and un-bothered, it was a Friday afternoon so she may not have wanted the inconvenience. No effort to reschedule was made either, really terrible receptionist and very unprofessional technician. Appointment was for 12 noon Friday January 9, avoid this location, very poor experience.

They told me they don't do mris there and I would have to go to another place. Before I was even done speaking the man hung up on me.have to say this is the Worst customer service I have ever received.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Capital Health
What does Capital Health do?
Capital Health is a sleep medicine clinic in Hamilton, NJ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Capital Health?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Capital Health directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Capital Health?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Capital Health?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
