I was hospitalized for 3 1/2 days with an unknown virus. The staff was absolutely fabulous. From the emergency room workers specifically Nikki and Doctor Maxwell, were very kind and compassionate, when I was moved upstairs to my room, the nurses that cared for me were wonderful as well. Specifically, Bonnie, Bwana, Mindy, and Nate. Jermarcus (might be spelled incorrectly) from the cafeteria always had a smile on his face and brought me extra tea, Which was delicious as well as the food was yummy! Dr Bahal, my hospitalist, was also very kind and showed empathy towards my situation. Emma, one of the hospital cleaning was also so sweet and kind. I tried to remember everybody’s names in their jobs, but alas, I may have forgotten a few people. My overall experience was wonderful. I felt listene

called ahead at least 3 separate times for the past week to make sure they accepted county indigent healthcare. spent multiple hours last friday talking to people at the taylor clinic and someone gave me a number to whoever handles the claims to make sure my “insurance” was covered. i called again yesterday, the day before my appointment, to confirm my appointment and confirm they would take my insurance so that i would not waste a trip and have issues when checking in. they took my identification and said i was good to go. i show up today and the receptionist, veronica, just flat out tells me they do not take CIHP. im so confused because i confirmed multiple times that they do. she kept insisting that at their location in Taylor they do not. i asked you “do not take CIHP at all?”and she

This is the worst hospital ever. Why I stayed here I had a nurse that was train . And took good care of her patient. Then I had some that hardly ever came in the room to check on me. The Dr. Wear the same clothes he has been wearing for 2 years. That is already a flag. I was bleeding from my IV it was a puddle of blood. They thought I was playing around.. I had a guy nurse that said he was bringing me my meds. Well it took him 2 hours. Before he came they don't change the bed sheet the restroom are nasty. I so done with this hospital never again. The way ppl say if you ready to die go to Baylor Scott & White in Taylor Tx

I had the best experience with my colonoscopy and endoscopy on August 4th at the Taylor Hospital. Dr. Akpan did an excellent job and the nurses: Carrie, Melissa, Kaitlin (anesthesia), Sydney, Stephanie (front desk), Jenny, Lyn and Bonnie were all outstanding. What kind, knowledgable, professional and caring medical workers they all are. I will recommend Taylor Hospital to anyone having a need for Day Surgery or Emergency care. Judy Parks

For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Taylor Sleep Center

What does Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Taylor Sleep Center do?

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Taylor Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Taylor, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Taylor Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Taylor Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Taylor Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Taylor Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
