The receptionist is rude and she didn’t schedule my child appointment last week ! She told me to come on today but when arrived she stated the appointment wasn’t scheduled and she can’t fit us in. It’s sad because SHE is the one that scheduled the appointment! This was a mistake she made and this is only my child’s second set of shots which will be missed. There was 4 others there as well and her customer service is horrible no greeting at all just a stale face !

DO NOT COME HERE!!! I scheduled my appointment here as a new patient after moving to this area. They told me to stop taking my medicine so they could do allergy testing. I advised them that I have already done that with my other doctor and will bring the paperwork with me. She didn't seem very happy with that answer. I showed up for my appointment and was pretty much ignored when I walked in so I signed my name on the sign-in sheet that I saw in the window and then was stared at after I was done. I held out my cards to the one girl and advised her that she's going to need a copy of my insurance card and ID since I'm a new patient and she asked if I signed in to which I replied yes. She then asked my name which I told her. She then told me that they couldn't see me because the doctor wasn't

I had allergy testing two months ago. They never have called me to say the serum had arrived. I’ve called them five times and left messages. No return calls. They never answer the phone or return calls. Guess I’ll have to drive an hour to get an allergist who responds. I do not recommend this practice.

Will be calling a lawyer not only does my husband have to start allergy shots over after 17 weeks already in. He just fell on their property because of ice.

The wheel chair / stretcher accessibility is critically flawed. The only ramp is in a regular parking space. All other access to the sidewalk leading to the door is blocked by parking space stops/blocks. Strong suggestion for accessibility: put the ramp directly in front of the door and make that space a no parking space. There is plenty of parking spaces for this small office in the back. Reserve at least the space in the front, in front of the door for disability/mobility access.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Allergy Asthma & Sleep Center

What does Allergy Asthma & Sleep Center do?

Allergy Asthma & Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Colonial Heights, VA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Allergy Asthma & Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Allergy Asthma & Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Allergy Asthma & Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Allergy Asthma & Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
