I recently had a sleep study here and had a very positive experience. Courtney, the nurse assisting me, was amazing. She was incredibly kind, polite, and professional, and she did a great job making me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Obviously it’s not the same as being at home, but she made the environment feel as relaxed and welcoming as possible. Her calm and friendly approach really made a difference during what could have been an uncomfortable experience. I truly appreciated her care and professionalism.

They need to set up 4 different rooms with 4 different styles of mattresses and set up appointments to Customers needs to their comfort level not expect everyone to sleep on a rock hard bed and Instantly setting them up for failure right off the top. And lower the bed frames down. Am fairly tall and could barely get up into bed. I can't imagine short people would need a ladder just to get into bed. Need to take more Pride into thier customers than worrying about thier pocket book. Not going to waste my money on a second sleep study at this place until they change their line of thinking for customers that pay money out of thier pockets to only to be set up for Failurer. Should be about Customers not about Profit! Just because they are the only ones here around in the panhandle area they nee

Very poor customer service receptionist could care less huge waste of money! Did an at home sleep study with their machine more than once, costed everytime, only for them to tell me that I have to do one in house. It has been 10 months and still never had a cpap machine on my face. Finally tried to get to the bottom of it and you guessed it only want an updated prescription and spend more money that I don't have. If you don't have over 5k laying around for studies, machines, and doctor visits save your money or try to use other facilities that maybe can do everything in house so you don't have doctor appointments on top of trying to work with western sleep medicine.

This place is a joke I have 2 machines and I sent the card in for the older unit for them to read and get the other information off the new unit and then they say I am non compliant I wear it every single night.. Also the newer unit needs repaired and I took it to them for repair and I get it would be cheaper for you to order the parts and fix it yourself so I go on website and can’t find the parts. This is there specialty they should be repairing these units not me I have no idea what I’m doing on these units.. My suggestion go somewhere else where you can decent quality service..

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Western Sleep Medicine
What does Western Sleep Medicine do?
Western Sleep Medicine is a sleep medicine clinic in Gering, NE that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Western Sleep Medicine?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Western Sleep Medicine directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Western Sleep Medicine?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Western Sleep Medicine?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
