I was anxious about having a sleep study. I was thinking it would be a hospital-like environment... but I was so wrong! I arrived and the staff let me in - they were super friendly and helpful! It was a very home-like atmosphere, with a bedroom and bathroom. There was only one other patient down the hall that arrived 1/2 hour after me, but I never heard or saw them. I got ready for bed and then they put on all the sensors... I was anxious about this part, but they explained everything! They also told me that the longer I sleep, the better the results... so I took my over-the-counter sleep aid. I played games on my phone for an hour or so and then tried to sleep. I felt very safe and had zero fears about sleeping there! I feel asleep fast, because the room was dark, the bed was comfy and th

I would like to update my review. Although you guys were very professional, it’s been a pain to actually talk to someone from your office. I am just trying to trace where my referral has gone. The company you sent it to doesn’t call back. If you have a working relationship with them then you should be able to provide me with an actual person I can work with. If I knew my sleep study would be treated so lightly I would never have come to you’ll. It’s been over a month since I did my test and I have no follow up except for a text message. Somebody needs to call me to take this further.

Great experience overall - can't recommend this place enough. So a while ago my wife noticed that I would occasionally stop breathing when I was sleeping, so she pushed me to get a sleep study done. We worked through our doctor and insurance, and this place popped up (and I hadn't ever heard of them before). I got the zoom call from the doctor and he went through the options and went through a series of questions to deem whether or not I was eligible for the study - and I was. The doctor was pretty thorough and very kind about what the possible sleep issues are and everything. Then I went to the in-person sleep study. Kim was amazing. she was very kind and explained everything to expect and was friendly and happy the entire time (and in times of COVID - she ALWAYS wore her mask and

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Wellfirst Sleep Diagnostics
What does Wellfirst Sleep Diagnostics do?
Wellfirst Sleep Diagnostics is a sleep medicine clinic in Lewisville, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Wellfirst Sleep Diagnostics?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Wellfirst Sleep Diagnostics directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Wellfirst Sleep Diagnostics?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Wellfirst Sleep Diagnostics?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
