⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a great experience and received exactly the care and service I was looking for. Dr. Akhil was very kind, professional, and thorough. He came into the room, sat down with me, took the time to explain everything clearly, and made sure all of my questions were answered. I never felt rushed and truly appreciated the time he spent with me. The nurse who assisted me was also excellent—friendly, attentive, and made the entire visit comfortable and smooth from start to finish. Overall, great service, a wonderful staff, and a very positive experience. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for knowledgeable and compassionate care.

The front desk experience for a check in was far better than the last two years visits. She was friendly and efficient. Jennifer was fine, but she doesn't ask enough questions and just listen before she starts talking. It was hard to get a word in sometimes. But she is very pleasant and helpful.

The lady at the front desk I was feeling some type of way about at first. When I arrived she saw me from down the hallway and didn’t greet my husband and I. I stood at the front desk for about ten minutes and she saw me staring in her direction and then told me she’d be with me in a moment. There weee two female drug reps that may have been there for a while that she helped prior to checking me in. Another patient arrived from the back and she proceeded to assist him. She was quite snappy and mentioned she was from Hawaii By the end of my appointment I had given her candy that she hadn’t tried before and now we are friends. The physician seemed like he knows his stuff so I’ll see on my follow up(s) how it goes

I arrived on time 8:45pm for my 9:00pm appointment. Door was locked. Gently knocked on glass doors. No response. Called the phone #on the door. Followed the phone tree. Recorded voice let me know a technician will be with me shortly. After 5 minutes I called again. I’m feeling more and more anxious. I’m thinking maybe I’m at the wrong place! After 10 minutes alone in the lot, a very impatient man arrived. That’s a whole other story. The person answering the door scolded me for not using the doorbell. In my defense, I told the person, “There is no sign that reads, “Ring the Bell”, nor does the answering phone message let anyone know to ring the tiny beige button. The only truly noticeable device is a key pad and a sign that reads, “Enter Your Code”, if you are checking in.” Needless t

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Vancouver Sleep Center

What does Vancouver Sleep Center do?

Vancouver Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Vancouver, WA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Vancouver Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Vancouver Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Vancouver Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Vancouver Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
