My dad has been a patient here many times, and over the course of 12–15 visits I've only ever witnessed caring, attentive staff. I know everyone's experience is unique and people can be critical of healthcare, but the compassion I've seen here has been consistent every single time. A bonus tip: the cafeteria is one of the North Country's best-kept secrets. I've eaten there many times .... pictured are the homemade muffins!

On January 30th 2026 I was at the EMERGENCY ROOM for over 3 hours without being seen by Dr. Elisabeth Moore. I just wanted a antibiotic until I could see my primary care physician. The nurse who took me and my neighbor into the room said herself I would probably need a antibiotic after looking at the problem herself. I just don't understand why the doctor refused to acknowledge me after she had just gotten done seeing a male out patient. One person in EMERGENCY room which was being dealt with by someone else. So after 3 hours Doctor Moore sends the nurse back in and said to tell me she wouldn't be mad if we chose to leave without being seen. I left with no explanation especially after she had just seen the male patient.. When exiting the room Dr Moore was sitting in her office on

MAY 2O26 UPDATE: Bill is with collections who told me to send the bill to MaineCare to get it paid. Mainecare keeps saying since the radiology association is not contracted they won't pay. This is utter nonsense. APRIL 2026 UPDATE: UCVH billing refuses to help us. They just keep saying "we don't have access to SNHRC computer". They REFUSE to speak to the radiology billing dept on our behalf. Now the bill has gone to collections. Funny how SNHRC was able to bill our insurance for the imaging but suddenly they don't know how to send the claim to our insurance for the doctors. Seriously AVOID THIS HOSPITAL LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. JANUARY 2026 UPDATE: Been dealing with this issue for almost a full year now. UCVH billing department is still unwilling to advocate on behalf of their patie

I was visiting from out of town when I got a bloody nose that lasted for hours. UCVH ER staff was fantastic. They were so kind and respectful. They explained every step and involved me in the decision making. I was very satisfied with the care I received.

Need time sensitive labs performed. Too bad. They have a schedule to keep. Don’t worry they can maybe accommodate you…next week or the week after that or the week after that. Turning patients away is insane. Preventing patients from receiving the medical treatment that they need is insane. This place is a waste of taxpayer money. Don’t bother stopping they’ll just turn you away.

Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Frequently asked questions about Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital
What does Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital do?
Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital is a sleep medicine clinic in Colebrook, NH that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
