Never been treated so rudely and unprofessional. My wife was in extreme pain. I took her to Emergency Room at 4 a.m. they took an MRI and 3.5 hours later we had no results. We got up to leave because there was no care being given, thats when they suddenly had the results, blaming the wait on "shift change" Wouldn't give her a heating pad, didn't give her a glass of water a blanket or anything. They diagnosed sciatica so MRId her back. My wife told them it's not her back/sciatica, the pain was much worse and different.. We were back two days later, my wife writhing in pain crying, sobbing unable to sit or stand the admissions lady Wouldn't let her lay on the bed there, kicked us out so quick I couldn't get my belongings. Complete and total indifference to my wife's agony. When I had the ne

My daughter came in by ambulance on the 27th because of a fall which caused a bad head injury. Her pillow was all bloody the day she came in the ER and they never changed it or even looked to see how bad the injury was until we said something. Then they start running around getting set up to put staples in her head, 15 total. Stapling wads of her in the wound without being careful. I told the nurse/ Doctor just cut the hair. And she said rudely back to me..."its easy for you to say since its not your hair"! I was really upset! Then she started to pull the hair out from the staples causing her more pain. Finally another Doctor came in and said she had to redo some of the staples.Omg! More pain caused. After hours went by she fianally got room upstairs. The next I come in to visit her still

Took a family member to the emergency department (ED). Staff in the ED was nice and attentive. Doctors there were nice as well. Family member was admitted. While on the way to the room, I saw large dust balls in the hallway and in the corner on the elevator. All I thought was "this place is filthy to be a hospital." Once we arrived to the floor the nurses there were rude as all get out. Family member was there for almost a week and a half and not once did housekeeping come to clean the room. No one came to remove the dishes. All I could think of my family member leaving the hospital with an infection they didn't come with. Well I thank God for family member left the hospital feeling better.

I was scheduled for surgery on April 6th 2026. I was bumped off the surgery list because they said that the anesthesiologist was booked up. I feel otherwise and I guess my pain doesn't matter after it took me 3 months to even see the doctor and another 2 months to be scheduled for the surgery. Now to be pushed down another week isn't setting well with me. I do feel as though I was pushed off the list for reasons other than the one given to me. Very upset with that. Don't care about nothing except if you have insurance. Always want you to call another number and when everyone knows that it really doesn't matter not even a little bit.

Took a family member to the ER Monday morning. We were trying to wait for urgent care to open but the pain got too severe. We were they only ones there at this point. The guy at the front desk was rude. Couldn't see his name badge, it was on his waist with things covering it. Kept making comments this isn't something for the ER. Then a few more people walked in and he said what did you do, turn on the lights so everyone comes in. Very uncalled for. Every comment made was rude and demeaning. Then finally seen the doc and he didnt check anything. Just prescribed meds and sent us home. Back the next day due to an allergic reaction to the meds he prescribed. Didnt bother to check on allergies before jumping to write the prescription. This er is the worst.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital Sleep Center

What does UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital Sleep Center do?

UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Dubuque, IA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
