I have used this company since around 2020 they have been great until today I’m having my cpap and sleep study needs changed to the VA appointment next month because I retired and lost my bcbs insurance and I tried to buy a head strap without a updated prescription you can’t buy a head strap from them according to a lady there I’m pretty sure it was just one certain employee there because everyone else I’ve dealt with has been so helpful and just great . I hate I can’t deal with them anymore the majority of employees there are great people. I definitely recommend them to anyone with bc bs insurance and an updated prescription.

Total scam do not go here. I'm a 50 year old male with a 800 credit score only negative review I've ever give. The lady run my insurance bc/bs had for 22 years and said my resupplies 100% covered. Straight up lied sent me a bill for $139 a few months later. Couldn't ever get them to answer phone had to call the cooperate. Wouldn't take anything back then charged me late fee. Said to think how much money they have made screwing over people like this.

Crystal was nice and helpful to me! I was having trouble with my cpap mask and needed some liners. Not only was I due for all new supplies (covered 100% by my insurance) but she mailed my liners to me and they were $10 cheaper than getting them online. I received my liners the very next day. I am very impressed with the customer care I received at Total Respiratory.

If you care about your health and/or the health of your family, avoid this business. Tina loves to yell and belittle people who are simply needing information. Crystal was gossiping about my family one day and tried to deny it. This facility said my family member did not quality for a device they needed, and when we switched providers, they did indeed qualify for what they needed. The employees simply wouldn't take the time to look. We were always treated as if obtaining supplies was a hassle, and education on how to use something had to be begged for. In fact, Tina let out a frustrated sigh when I asked for help one day. This business also refuses to service equipment, even though Medicare policy states that equipment should be serviced every 6 months. This is a pitiful excuse for a busin

I have been a client at Respiratory Associates for well over a year. They are very professional, friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable, approachable, helpful, kind. They took their time and helped me find a mask that was a good fit to me. When they order from my insurance they make sure I get ALL that the insurance supplies and what I need. They make me feel like I matter and that they care for my respiratory needs.. They greet me when I walk thru the door. They thank me for coming and always let me know when it's time to reorder. When you want to be treated for more than a file number or than a check this is the business you need to patronize. No they aren't paying for this. They are really that good.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Total Respiratory
What does Total Respiratory do?
Total Respiratory is a sleep medicine clinic in Jasper, AL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Total Respiratory?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Total Respiratory directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Total Respiratory?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Total Respiratory?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
