Horrible experience. Talked to some bold individual (I think it was the nurse practitioner) and he did not like answering questions at all. His response was very unprofessional to the point that he cut me off and started to walk away and open the door to leave the room. I pointed out that I had additional questions cuz he didnt even explain to me what the next steps were in the sleep study and looked even more annoyed. I then pointed out if he was angry, upset or bothered by my questions and essentially said he was done with me. I then said ok then please get me someone else cuz I too was done talking to this clown. Instead he decided to cancel my appointment and the whole thing was a waste of my time. Definitely would not recommend a place where people like this are hired. Super unprofess

Dr. Rajit Nair took the time to listen carefully before he made any decisions or offered direction to me. He is a no nonsense kind of doctor that I trust.. His office staff has always been kind and thorough.

I absolutely recommend Dr. Ranjit Nair; he takes the time to come into my appointments (I have Dr's that do not, believe it or not), listens carefully, and genuinely cares about my health and concerns. I never feel rushed, and I always leave feeling heard and supported. I truly appreciate the compassion and attention he provides. Thank you so much, Dr. Nair. I really appreciate you and your staff!

I would not recommend. The staff is friendly but could benefit from additional training because they come off as incompetent. It was not easy to reach Dr. Ranjit Nair and have yet to receive a call back from the assistant Bailey. However, the office was quick to schedule an appointment and reschedule as needed and can communicate electronically. 3/6 My first visit, I saw Nurse Practitioner Edward Vasquez, the room had a leftover inhaler from the previous patient. Nonetheless, Edward was friendly and provided sample inhalers and recommended chest x-rays and blood screening. Once Edward left the front desk receptionist was on her phone and I had to inquire about the next steps. She printed an order for the x-ray but didn’t for the bloodwork. She informed they would fax it to the bloodwork

I was referred to this clinic by my PCP and scheduled my first appointment on February 12th. I initially saw Jeremiah, who was kind, soft-spoken, and explained that my snoring could be related to sleep apnea or airway obstruction. He ordered a sleep study, which gave me hope that I would get timely follow-up care. Unfortunately, that’s where the experience started to break down. It took about 20 days just to complete the sleep study, with no proactive communication or follow-up from the office. I had to call multiple times myself just to understand what the next steps were. For my follow-up, I was scheduled with a different provider, Dr. Ranjith Nair, who seemed knowledgeable and diagnosed me with severe sleep apnea. He ordered a CPAP machine and told me a supplier would contact me. Howe

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about The Lung & Sleep Center of North Texas
What does The Lung & Sleep Center of North Texas do?
The Lung & Sleep Center of North Texas is a sleep medicine clinic in Fort Worth, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at The Lung & Sleep Center of North Texas?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact The Lung & Sleep Center of North Texas directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at The Lung & Sleep Center of North Texas?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at The Lung & Sleep Center of North Texas?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
