I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this sleep clinic was frustrating enough that I feel others should be aware of it. I completed a sleep study at this clinic approximately a year ago. The technician who conducted the study was professional and courteous. During the study, I was fitted with several masks, and we determined that a nasal mask appeared to be the best option for me. Not long after the study, I received a call informing me that the sleep study had not been completed correctly and that I would need to return for another test. I was then told the repeat study would cost approximately $175. I was shocked by this. If the original study was not performed correctly, I did not understand why I would be expected to pay for a second study. When I questioned the ch

I would not recommend this Sleep Study Center. The staff does not follow up consistently. Phone calls are not answered and are not returned when a message is left. I had an issue with trying to reach the facility on the day of my sleep study. When it was rescheduled six months later, I found out that they charged me for a no-show fee although I left a message and followed up with a phone call the next day. The Dr then up charged me for a visit that lasted more than 30 minutes Although I waited in the lobby for 25 minutes before seeing the Dr.Again,I was not made aware of this until my Insurance Company made them aware that my deductible was met still 6 months later. The facility staff was not professional, but rude. I would not recommend this place.

My primary care physician diagnosed me with sleep apnea over two years ago and recommended that I contact this Center. I have been very pleased with the services I have received beginning with the initial meeting with Dr. Wesley Dennis, a neurologist and director of the Center, to the sleep study conducted over two evening sessions by a very competent sleep lab technician, to Bonita, the doctor's assistant who helped me select the appropriate head gear, and to the receptionists at the front desk. During my last annual appointment with Dr. Dennis, he adjusted the pressure on my CPAP machine which improved my scores on MyAir, the website that allows me to monitor each morning how well my apnea is being addressed. What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about The Arlington Sleep Disorder Center

What does The Arlington Sleep Disorder Center do?

The Arlington Sleep Disorder Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Arlington, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at The Arlington Sleep Disorder Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact The Arlington Sleep Disorder Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at The Arlington Sleep Disorder Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at The Arlington Sleep Disorder Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
