It takes 20-30 mins on hold to speak to anyone. If you use the callback option that the recording offers, no one actually ever calls you back. I had an appointment scheduled for MONTHS and it was cancelled at the last minute because I had not completed some pre-appointment requirement. What was the homework? I had to sign a simple consent form (could easily have done at the clinic), and I had to download an app and confirm I have wifi. Seriously? An appointment is cancelled because I don't send an email saying I have wifi??? No one warned me ahead of time that this could happen, and no one attempted to call me to find out this basic information that was apparently preventing me from moving forward with a critical appointment to address a health problem that is severely impacting my life.

Referred by my cardiologist who works in the same building. Primarily so she could coordinate with someone close by to make the best decisions for my health. First I was stuck in pending status for weeks, then I called and was like what is going on? They're like oh you're in pending status, let's take you out of that, Ok.... Very next day I get a call to schedule. I was to be seen as a new consult. They asked me if I had already received any treatment for my condition and I told them that I had seen somebody at St. Michael's (who I'm specifically trying to get away from because they've endangered my health 3 times now through negligence). Marjorie (scheduler) immediately launches into a "we're not accepting external transfers" dialogue, I said I'm not an external transfer I'm somebody who

I waited for 15 minutes to ask if they were taking new patients and let them know I was an external referral. I was transferred to someone else, who transferred me back to the first desk I called, who put me on hold. 40 minutes into the call I was told that they aren't taking new external referrals. You have GOT to be kidding me. That's 40 minutes of my life I'm not getting back.

The worst! Months waiting for a zoom medical appointment that happened in Jan 2025. Clinic mid- August. No follow-up! I called September 26 after continued sleep and health problems and was told the next time I could zoom-talk to the doctor was late November. And I still don't have my sleep clinic results!! The receptionist is terribly rude and unhelpful.

Too bad experiences One is extremely rude staff person at the Edmonds location. Second, the cardiologist recommended my husband see sleep medicine ASAP following an emergency pacemaker placement. They cannot give me an appointment for 5 months with his sleep medicine person. However my real issue is that they were unwilling to see if any of their other providers have in earlier appointment as they don't like patients to switch providers. I would say this is an example of putting the provider before the patient. Will definitely be looking for someplace else to go

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Swedish Sleep Medicine/Cherry Hill
What does Swedish Sleep Medicine/Cherry Hill do?
Swedish Sleep Medicine/Cherry Hill is a sleep medicine clinic in Seattle, WA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Swedish Sleep Medicine/Cherry Hill?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Swedish Sleep Medicine/Cherry Hill directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Swedish Sleep Medicine/Cherry Hill?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Swedish Sleep Medicine/Cherry Hill?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
