Scheduling is soo off!! the fact they expect you to give out your personal info over the phone to someone you don't even know is even more concerning and I am not comfortable doing so! I was gonna be a new patient with the clinic tomorrow but, I already called my primary care to have referral redirected to a new and better neurologist as this clinic gave me an unprofessional feeling! I'm glad I never even got a chance to meet any docs because how they handle the front office is unprofessional I could only imagine what the docs here are like and I feel that's why they are at a 2⭐️rating as I didn't even wanna give them and entire one ⭐️ but they haven't made a half star rating available and this clinic def needs to upgrade how they run their facility! I will also be reporting it to my insu

This is BY FAR the WORST neurologist I’ve ever been to my entire life, and I’ve had epilepsy since I was 2 months old. I 100% agree with everyone else with their scheduling. I had an appointment this morning and thought before I let I better call them. I called and they told me I have no appointment. I am running out of my meds because of their lack of being able to run a doctors office. I talked to both doctors and the scheduling team and they both blamed each other of why appointments are wrong. THIS PLACE IS BY FAR THE WORST DOCTORS OFFICE IVE EVER SEEN AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

⭐️⭐️ Very disappointing experience with Southwest Neurology. I waited over 40 minutes in the exam room waiting to see the doctor. I understand that medical offices can run behind, but waiting that long without being seen is frustrating and feels disrespectful of a patient’s time. The scheduling has also been extremely difficult. Appointments are being scheduled months apart, making it challenging to receive consistent follow-up or feel like your care is being addressed in a timely manner. I came here expecting a neurology practice to provide organized, timely, and patient-focused care. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. Long waits and months between appointments make the process unnecessarily frustrating. If your time is valuable and you expect reasonable wait times a

I agree with the front office reviews. I absolutely love the doctor but the front office, Janette, can’t keep things straight. Saying I didn’t confirm when I did speak with her just yesterday to change the appointment from in person to Telehealth and then cancelling it. Mind you the weeks before we sat and waited for over an hour for our appointment when the doctor was still with another patient and then they rescheduled. It’s insanity. We are going to have to find a new neurologist even though we love the one we see, simply because of the front office not keeping schedules correct.

Dr Doorani was great in the beginning. It was only when he passed me onto one of his inept and truly lazy colleagues, that I lost all respect for this practice. This new Dr wasted a year of my life promising to schedule me tests and get me the help I needed. However, after every 3 month visit, he forgot and did nothing. One year after I received several life altering severe diagnosis', this Doctor did literally nothing. All despite the urgency of treatment required immediately. I got much worse, because of this place. So with that, I lost all respect for this practice and Doorani.

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Southwest Neurology & Sleep Medicine
What does Southwest Neurology & Sleep Medicine do?
Southwest Neurology & Sleep Medicine is a sleep medicine clinic in Phoenix, AZ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Southwest Neurology & Sleep Medicine?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Southwest Neurology & Sleep Medicine directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Southwest Neurology & Sleep Medicine?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Southwest Neurology & Sleep Medicine?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
