I initially chose Sleep Metrics as much for its convenient location as for its good reviews. However, my experience has been nothing but excellent and I would drive out of my way to continue to work with this group. Everyone has gone out of their way to help me with this new, challenging CPAP experience. The scheduler made extra phone calls and provided the required details to move the approval/insurance process along quickly– even though it was technically out of his hands. I worked with Susan to learn about their equipment and be fitted for the mask. She was incredibly informative, encouraging and patient. And the rest of the team, have been knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I sure wish that I did not need to use a CPAP machine. However, I am so glad that I found Sleep Metrics to hel

Staff promised to share information for my upcoming appointment (on 5/26) with OHSU Sleep Disorders Program on 5/5/2026. No one got back to me to let me know my machine was not downloading information. It was impossible to get through to anyone by phone. I was not notified until it was too late for me to pick up a card to download my sleep data. Now I will have a wasted telehealth appointment with my physician because I do not have updated information to share with her.

I appreciate the great customer service I received from this company. Devan attended to me this time. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and caring. He took the time to thoroughly answer all my questions. He gave me options which I always appreciate. He also provided easy-to-understand educational tidbits explaining the physiological facts of apnea and treatment. In my opinion, the more educated you are as a customer/patient, the more compliant in therapy you will be. I have been using this new equipment for a week now and it is working out better for my needs.

Called with a technical issue while out of tow on vacation. After waiting on hold I was instructed to leave my name and phone number and they would return my call in the order received. Never happened. Extremely poor business practices in my opinion. If I had an alternative I would probably take my business elsewhere.

Moved to Oregon last year. Devan has helped me so much; I feel like my sleeping struggles are over! He is knowledgeable, explains in detail so much so that I am successful at home. After 15 years of COAP use, I finally feel like I understand the benefits of diligent use. Thank you Devan!!!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sleep Metrics

What does Sleep Metrics do?

Sleep Metrics is a sleep medicine clinic in Lake Oswego, OR that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sleep Metrics?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sleep Metrics directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Sleep Metrics?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Sleep Metrics?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
