Very nice experience and the gentleman working was extremely kind and helpful. My son (5yo) had a sleep study at the facility. The rooms were clean and comfortable, much like a bedroom as opposed to a sterile hospital room. Would definitely recommend others to choose this facility.

Not much of a wait in the wait area for the room however if there is more than one person then you will wait at least 2 hours. Set up isn’t long however it is comprehensive. My 6 year old girl needed her study done and although it was hard for her to keep all the stuff together specially the nose ones, she did great! Be prepared for lots of tape and cables. If your a parent make sure you pack for entertainment or yourself. Bed is uncomfortable for me and made a lot of noise. There is a bathroom with shower and closet however toilet don’t have a lid. Tv can be on u til 10pm and then is quiet time. No leaving to get food etc so bring your snacks. No bugs seen in the place. Make sure you pee before you get plugged up! The technician was very welcoming, he stayed up all night and comes in if

I had a great experience with the Sleep Lab! All staff are very nice and take great care of you, while in their care. The rooms are very nice and clean. I was so nervous to stay over at first, then I got there and met the wonderful staff, and saw the room that made me feel at home, and I was completely fine after that. They got me all hooked up and in bed by 9pm, I slept the best I have in a long time. If you need a sleep study done for any reasons or have sleep apnea or any sleep disorders/issues, then I highly recommend coming to the Sleep Lap for Children and Adults. Thanks for the awesome care Sleep Lab!

The bed was VERY comfortable. Better than my own bed, of course and the room temperature was very good also. No sweating last night. Mr. Vincent, the guy working last night, was very polite and easy to talk to. We laughed and he happened to be very easygoing. In addition, he was very patient and allowed me time to do my homework before I went to sleep. He arrived right on time and the place itself is very clean and inviting. Overall, it was a good stay and the only thing more I'd request is to take this bed....or at least the mattress, home with me!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sleep Lab for Children and Adults
What does Sleep Lab for Children and Adults do?
Sleep Lab for Children and Adults is a sleep medicine clinic in North Chesterfield, VA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sleep Lab for Children and Adults?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sleep Lab for Children and Adults directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Sleep Lab for Children and Adults?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Sleep Lab for Children and Adults?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
