I had a sleep study with Sleep Center of NWI in March. Chrissy, the tech, was just amazing and Dr. Jacobus has been very thorough with me. I have had sleep apnea for many years, and the process of getting a new machine was explained well. Rebecca, the tech that fitted me for my new machine, was outstanding with a very warm sense of humor. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because there is no online bill pay for them. I'm expected to mail a check or phone in a credit card , which is very behind the times. Hopefully they will get something soon. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobus and his staff.

I asked if I could move in! Obviously, if you’re here, you have some underlying issues that need addressing. My doctor referred me but I didn’t know what to expect. First, it is a beautiful facility, in a peaceful location. I was there from 8p to 6a. My tech was Chrissy, she was very friendly and explained everything to the last detail, which is just what I needed. I watched a little bit of tv then took a shower and got ready for bed. Chrissy hooked me up to what seemed like a hundred cables but surprisingly I slept pretty good. Only downside was the shower was a tight fit, especially for someone my size but the room was clean and very quiet

Worst bedside manner I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. As a female, he proceeded to go under my clothes just to do basic things that everywhere else can do above my T-shirt. Also treats women like they’re hysterical idiots and just not happy with life when they ask questions about their healthcare. Sleep study was great. Dr. Is horrible

I strongly advise against visiting the Sleep Center of Northwest Indiana. I had to get my CPAP machine recalibrated, but my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon meeting the Dr. Emilio Soria, I found him difficult to understand and dismissive of my concerns. He wasted an hour of my time and money reviewing my paperwork, which was billed to me and my insurance as a joke. His sole focus was on conducting a sleep study and billing for it. The cost of the visit alone was $450, which is significantly higher than the cost of seeing a cardiologist out of pocket. I attempted to resolve the issue by contacting the billing department, but the representative was indifferent to my concerns and directed me to my insurance company. Frustrated, I paid the remaining balance, filed a complaint with

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sleep Center of Northwest Indiana, LLC
What does Sleep Center of Northwest Indiana, LLC do?
Sleep Center of Northwest Indiana, LLC is a sleep medicine clinic in Crown Point, IN that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sleep Center of Northwest Indiana, LLC?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sleep Center of Northwest Indiana, LLC directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Sleep Center of Northwest Indiana, LLC?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Sleep Center of Northwest Indiana, LLC?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
