If I could give zero stars, I would. I was scheduled for a sleep study at Samaritan Sleep Center in South Albany, Oregon, and was turned away tonight in one of the most humiliating experiences I’ve ever had. A staff member—Tianna or Kianna—and a “supervisor” who never even came to see me made the decision to deny me care because I was labeled “soiled” and “dirty” due to being homeless. Let that sink in. Instead of offering a basic, humane solution—like allowing me to use the shower that is literally part of the sleep study setup—I was refused treatment altogether. This is the SECOND time this month this facility has wasted my time. My first appointment on 3/1 was canceled last minute. I showed up again today (3/23), despite the effort it takes—gas, arranging rides, physical strain—and I wa

I want to say that the technicians on duty was incredibly kind and genuinely tried to help. They stripped the bed and did everything they could to make the room comfortable for me. Unfortunately, even after removing the linens, there was still a strong detergent smell coming from the mattress layers underneath. I have a sensitivity to fragrance, and the scent was overwhelming me to the point that I couldn’t stay for the study. It was disappointing because I had asked ahead of time about fragrance-free bedding and was told everything was medical grade, but the odor was still strong. The staff did their best, but the environment itself just wasn’t usable for a sleep study. Now I have to get a new referral and start the process over again to test at home.

I was worried over the negative reviews and almost cancelled my appt. But I went to check things out for myself (prepping to leave and cancel if things didn't meet my OCD criteria) and the negative reviews proved false. This facility is perfectly fine. I don't know if they upgraded things since the last negative review or not, but the rooms were nice, modern, clean, and quiet. I'm an EXTREMELY sensitive sleeper and this place passed muster. It was NOT loud. There's very minor highway white noise and occasionally a distant (and quiet) train whistle. But they can still provide you a fan or white noise machine on top of that. You don't hear any other rooms through your walls or other TVs, chatter, etc. Again--- I'm insanely OCD and sensitive about sleep noise + temperature and this place was

The people here are very friendly however, the sleep studies need some real work. My bf got an at home sleep test (most affordable and made the most sense) and when we were setting it up, everything seemed dated and almost like it was falling apart. We had a hard time getting the machine to be in that perfect spot so no sensors were going off. We got the results and they said he only had 3.5 events per hour which we thought was strange because of his issues and were dissappinted that we didn’t get a fix. We found an online company that sent us an at home sleep test and after taking it they found he had TWENTY events per hour. That’s a huge difference and if we wouldn’t have looked for other help he would still be having sleep issues. Their sleep studies definitely need some upgrades and I

What does Samaritan Sleep Center – South Albany do?
Samaritan Sleep Center – South Albany is a sleep medicine clinic in Albany, OR that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Samaritan Sleep Center – South Albany?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Samaritan Sleep Center – South Albany directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Samaritan Sleep Center – South Albany?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
