Nicole is fantastic! I really can’t say enough about how great it has been to work with her. This is my first experience with counseling and WOW I wish I had considered using this type of tool sooner. Nicole has provided me thoughtful feedback and support as I have worked through a personal challenge. She has helped me to understand my feelings from perspectives I have not before considered. It’s been a great experience learning more about myself. Thank you Nicole!

I've been with Dr. Pagnani for the past 5 years and find him very knowledgeable, comforting, and easy to talk to. He's always on time and very professional. You know you're in good hands after completing the visit. I would highly recommend Dr. Pagnani and his practice. In fact, my daughter is seeing one of his associates and very happy.

As a licensed therapist with years of experience collaborating with psychiatric providers, I can confidently say this practice is exceptional. Their clinicians are not only highly knowledgeable and evidence-based in their approach, but they also bring a level of compassion and attentiveness that truly sets them apart. Dr. Bu is excellent - Communication is seamless—she takes the time to coordinate care, provide thoughtful feedback, and ensure that treatment plans are aligned with therapeutic goals. My clients consistently report feeling heard, respected, and well-supported, which is exactly what you want when referring out for medication management. It’s rare to find a psychiatric team that balances clinical expertise with genuine human connection so well. I highly recommend this practic

I’ve had a wonderful experience with Karen Chen as my psych NP. She makes me feel heard and believed, especially regarding concerns that have been brushed off by other doctors in the past. She always remembers details from our previous sessions, which makes the care feel seamless and deeply personal. Karen played a pivotal role in helping me get through some of my toughest years, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her support. If you’re looking for someone who’s both highly skilled and truly cares about your progress, Karen is the person to see.

Really unethical practice focused on the money. Jessica, the “scheduler”, was rude and refused to connect me to anyone who could answer basic questions-she told me that I would be required to pay for a consultation if I wanted to ask any questions. I explained that I was looking for a provider for a friend and I had already spoken to another neuro-psychologist who explained that there are a lot of differences in neuro psych assessments and highly recommended that I ask other providers about this before deciding which one to make an appointment with (the provider who gave me this information was too far away for my friend to see). I also called another office and learned they were not taking new patients but the owner/psychiatrist there spent quite a bit of time on the phone advising me

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates
What does Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates do?
Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is a sleep medicine clinic in Philadelphia, PA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
