My 11yr old had a sleep study done here last night, absolutely BEST facility. The staff was welcoming, told us where everything was, and informative with everything. They offered a recliner in the rooms, so I had somewhere to sleep. They had a TV with Roku, offered snacks and drinks for the patients. I highly recommend!! I can't remember her but the girl who took care of my son last night was amazing, I give her ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!! Thank you for a pleasant night considering why we were there.

Been here twice. Once in 2019 and once in 2024 and did not receive results either time. Place stunk. Place did not seem clean at all. Seemed like it was about as sanitary as a cheap motel. Someone brought their baby to work that cried all night the second time I went. So unprofessional. Was not able to get sleep with the crying baby. Still waiting for results from both appointments… one over 6 years ago now.

I personally found the facility to be unprofessional. As you enter, there is an office on the left that is cluttered with files on the floor and just general disorganization and chaos everywhere. When I went for my sleep study, I found it odd that most websites said it would be similar to a hotel room however, this room had gray sheets with a dime store blanket. I was surprised that a medical facility would not have white sheets. Their communication was extremely poor and they never advised me of my sleep study results. I had to call multiple times and eventually had to go pick up my results which nobody would interpret and I did not know what they meant. Months later, they called to set up a cpap / mask fitting yet still nobody would explain the results of my initial testing. I would find

The woman who worked with me wreaked of cigarette smoke, equipment came lose and no one came in to connect it again, stopped breathing many times and no one came in to check on me, couldn’t sleep because they would not let me use my machine. So it was a dose and wake situation all night. They put me in a room, walked away and never came back until time to leave. They were getting ready for me to leave after 4:am. Im not sure if its was a situation where I had Medicaid so I didn’t matter or they just down right weren’t interested. Dr please don’t send your patients here.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Regional Health Diagnostics Inc
What does Regional Health Diagnostics Inc do?
Regional Health Diagnostics Inc is a sleep medicine clinic in Jacksonville, NC that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Regional Health Diagnostics Inc?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Regional Health Diagnostics Inc directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Regional Health Diagnostics Inc?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Regional Health Diagnostics Inc?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
