Went in for a sleep test, staff was wonderful overall. But the after with the dr and trying to get what actual equipment we needed was hell. Still waiting as Dr Salem left the practice in the middle of what they were doing for our family. So once he left theres been no instruction or notes. We have been waiting for a refferal since New England Sleep Center Could not take our case. Its been months and Ive called several times to re bring this up to them. Do not choose them if your looking for fast complete service. Very disapointed in CMCs network lately.

I wasn’t impressed with this experience. After waiting 8 months for a consultation, my doctor was switched at the last minute, which I accepted. However, I wasn’t informed that the new doctor was from Dartmouth, not CMC, and I was billed as uninsured, though I had provided my insurance information. After an at-home sleep study, I never heard back from the provider. When I called, a technician eventually called me back to go over the results and said I needed an in-person sleep study, and suggested a DIY solution involving a tennis ball sewn into my shirt to help me sleep on my back. The in-person study would cost over $16,000, and I wasn’t sure what my insurance would cover. I canceled it and tried an over-the-counter mouth guard, which improved my sleep significantly. I saved money and if

The staff seem to have a grasp on what patients deserve for service once they get inside the office. The Doctor was rushed, and didn't want to answer questions, just wanted specific answers and led us to agree with his suggested answers. There is some major confusion as to where to enter the facility. On the first visit we went to the side door on the north end of the building, following the signs. We were told we should go through the Hotel lobby, but she said she would walk us through. On the second visit, we went to the door in the Hotel lobby, and we were told we should go to the side door. She blocked our way through the door, until my wife told her we were directed to this door last time we came. What it seems like is that people at both door don't want to have to get up and actuall

I had a great experience at this sleep center. I spent two nights at the sleep center with two different technicians. Dave and Elizabeth are both terrific. They know their stuff and are good at explaining it. They are cheerful, encouraging and supportive. The clinic is comfortable, you are staying in a nice hotel room not a hospital bed. I have been to two other sleep clinics in the past, and this is by far the best. I am glad I found it and I highly recommend it.

Awful service Dr. Salem is extremely rude, no bedside manner whatsoever. Has other patients information just sitting on his desk for others to see talk about a HIPPA violation. Never really went over my results. Now I can’t get ahold of anyone via call I’ve called about 10 times. Once I get my information I’m looking for I will never be dealing with them again.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about New England Sleep Center

What does New England Sleep Center do?

New England Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Manchester, NH that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at New England Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact New England Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at New England Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at New England Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
