Everyone was exceptionally helpful! They explained things extremely well!! However, I don’t care for the bench in the room lol Other than that I was pleasantly pleased with the providers and ALL the staff. Friendly and knowledgeable wow 🤯 I was impressed! Thank You! The experiences I encountered made my morning a lot less stressful!! Keep up the good work & keep smiling!

Dr. Reichmuth diagnosed a condition that has been elusive to other sleep doctors for over five years, and did so on his first attempt. I don't have the words or review ratings to deliver upon how lifechanging it is to finally have an answer, and it was liberating to feel heard and taken seriously. I was impressed with him, as was my family, and I would highly recommend seeking his care for complex sleep issues.

(I went to the location at Lakeside, but it's not coming up on Google maps, so I am leaving my review here since it's all the same company.) I live and work downtown, but my doctor referred me here to get a pulmonary test done. I took time off of work and came all the way out to Lakeside for my appointment at 8am. When I got there, the receptionist informed me that the person scheduled to do my test called out sick (I guess they only have one employee who can administer this test, which seems crazy to me). She was not apologetic at all and asked if I could come back at 1pm, as if that wouldn’t be an issue. I get that emergencies happen, but there should always be a backup person for those occasions. And at least give people a quicker heads up and show some remorse! This place is extremely

Appointment to see Dr Nic Genrich. Came in for a breathing test at 7:15, done by 8:15, THEN HAD TO WAIT TILL 9:00 for a 9:15 APPOINTMENT. THE WAITING ROOM WAS EMPTY AND NO ONE THERE BUT ME!! Needless to say I won’t be back, I’ll travel to Omaha or out of state if I have to from now on. Just ridiculous. Haven’t even met the guy and I’m pissed iff. No wonder my pulse & blood pressure were elevated.

Dr. Ali Piper is my physician and she is great and I have a good personal relationship with her. However, I agree with many of the reviews here that it is impossible to reach anyone by phone. Wait times to get results are unduly lengthy and I end up having to call to nag somebody. Communication from the insurance staff and nursing staff is not timely. Wait times for office visits are longer than any other specialty physician I visit. The patient experience requires much improvement at this practice.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties

What does Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties do?

Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties is a sleep medicine clinic in Lincoln, NE that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
