My experience at Mercy Jewish Hospital was phenomenal. From the moment I arrived through my stay, every member of the surgical team and hospital staff provided outstanding care. The entire team was incredibly helpful, compassionate, and professional. They treated me with genuine kindness, empathy, and respect, making me feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the entire process. Every question was answered thoroughly, and I always felt that my well-being was their top priority. I am truly grateful for the exceptional care I received. I could not have asked for a better surgical team or hospital experience. Thank you to everyone who played a part in my care and recovery. Your dedication and compassion made all the difference.

I’m grateful for the care I received at the Jewish Hospital ER. First of all, while the ER doctor was lacking in skills, the expert that she called in to care for me was exceptional. Dr Bowling came in at 11 pm and then was back at 8 am for surgery the next day, and her care throughout was outstanding. Four years ago, my husband had an emergency, and the specialists who treated him were also amazing (Dr Kahn and Dr Cullen). So, we would choose the Jewish Hospital ER again because their specialists are top notch. In other aspects of my experience, Mara in triage is talented at placing an IV so it’s as comfortable as possible. Also, ER nurse Sam is excellent at providing care, and she eased our worry and concern throughout my stay. Finally, third floor critical care nurse Josh is also amazin

I was admitted to Jewish under the care of Dr.Gozal for a craniotomy. From registration to discharge, my care was incredible. The compassion that I received made this scary surgery a little more accepting. The nurses on the ICU provided me with exceptional care and made sure I was comfortable. When I transferred out of the ICU, I continued to receive exceptional care. Dietary staff and housekeeping treated me with respect and made sure I was comfortable. PT and OT helped me to gain some strength before I was discharged. PCA made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I can not say enough about the care I received. It was awesome!

Went in for outpatient surgery with Dr Barrat, who was kind and compassionate but funny too. He’s listed as one of the top docs in Cincy for a reason, highly recommend him for colorectal surgery needs. My nursing staff both pre-op, post-op, and in the PACU area were phenomenal. Brittany and Adrianne in pre/post and Jenn in PACU — thank you ladies for making a very anxious time easy and rewarding. Being a fellow nurse, you all reminded me we really do a hard but incredibly rewarding job. Thank you for the outstanding care all around!

For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Frequently asked questions about Mercy Health - The Jewish Hospital Sleep Center

What does Mercy Health - The Jewish Hospital Sleep Center do?

Mercy Health - The Jewish Hospital Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Cincinnati, OH that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Mercy Health - The Jewish Hospital Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Mercy Health - The Jewish Hospital Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Mercy Health - The Jewish Hospital Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Mercy Health - The Jewish Hospital Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
