I received wonderful care here. I started in the ED. My complaints were taken seriously and my concerns were validated. I was admitted and was given the most amazing room with a million dollar view of the harbor. Amazing nurses and doctors who listened. What more could you ask for? I was highly pleased with my experience.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Lawrence, the Front Desk Supervisor. He is a gentle, kind, and approachable young man who wears glasses. More importantly, he is someone who genuinely understands how to handle situations and solve problems. I had an important package that was supposed to arrive earlier, but unfortunately, it was delayed. It was delivered on the day when I was scheduled to leave, and if I could not receive it before my departure, I might have had to wait a long time before I could return to pick it up. The process would also have involved additional, complicated arrangements and caused me and others considerable inconvenience. I am generally someone who does not like to trouble other people or create extra work for staff. However, this was an unusual an

During my recent visit to Harbor Hospital, I had the pleasure of meeting one of the kindest people I've encountered—Mrs. Angel from the housekeeping staff. After being taken back by a nurse or technician, I was placed in a small makeshift room with only a bed that didn't even have sheets on it. There was nowhere else to sit, so I sat on the bare mattress. A few moments later, Mrs. Angel noticed me and, in the sweetest, most caring voice, asked, "Dear, why are you sitting on that bed like that?" After I explained that it was where I had been told to wait, she immediately stopped what she was doing—even though she was in the middle of cleaning—to make up the bed for me. It may have seemed like a small act, but it made a huge difference. Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to go above

Best NP at this practice. She is patient, kind and compassionate. She takes time to listen to your concerns and develops a treatment plan to keep you healthy and thriving. She also does patient teaching. This is the old school Healthcare I'm accustomed to. Will always recommend this practice to anyone seeking Cardiac health.

This is in reference to the PHP department. After living with bipolar disorder for twenty-five years, having it end my Medical School training in the third year, and then bouncing from program to program and from one treatment team to another; I have found something much better at Harbor Hospital. The framework may appear the same on paper; however, two approaches/activities make for a huge benefit in obtaining both help and understanding. One is the check in with each patient at the beginning and end of every day. Together everyone receives the same run down of a list checking emotional state and consequential thoughts. This quickly develops patient rapport and the realization many of us suffer from the same problems/difficulties. Every other place I have been hides this and leaves you

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about MedStar Harbor Hospital Sleep Center
What does MedStar Harbor Hospital Sleep Center do?
MedStar Harbor Hospital Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Baltimore, MD that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at MedStar Harbor Hospital Sleep Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact MedStar Harbor Hospital Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at MedStar Harbor Hospital Sleep Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at MedStar Harbor Hospital Sleep Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
