Initially everything went well. The Doctor was good. I put the study on hold because of an upcoming insurance change and then called back 3-4 months later and tried to get an appointment setup. Took 3 weeks to get the insurance verified and then the appointment was a month out. In the meantime, I found another clinic that could be me in sooner, so I went there. When I called to cancel, I was asked why, and I explained the delay in insurance approval and the time to get the study done. She did not take the feedback well and was very short on the phone. If you are not in a hurry and don't mind following up often this is the place to go. If you want efficient and helpful, I would keep looking.

I recently had a sleep test at this clinic and was thoroughly impressed with the level of care I received. The staff were friendly and professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The facility itself was clean and well-maintained, with all the necessary equipment to conduct the test. The technician who conducted the test was knowledgeable and explained everything in detail, which helped ease any nerves I had. Overall, I had a great experience at this clinic and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a sleep test. Dr Linarez and Cassie Lenos the physician associate were awesome, the facilities were top-notch, and the level of care I received was exceptional. If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy sleep test clinic, this is definitely the place

I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place if you are really suffering from insomnia and it’s not related to sleep apnea. All they care about is the people who have sleep apnea just so they can sell some medical device and make money..the dr is horrible and doesn’t give many options or even care about you having insomnia, UNLESS it is related to sleep apena which mainly applies to overweight and the elderly. So if you’re young and healthy, and you have insomnia, do your research I’m sure there’s plenty of other doctors out there that can provide better service. This is a big city after all. Just don’t come here..

Doctor was great. The sleep study was an interesting experience. Doctor was patient and answered all my questions. Rating: 5/5 I did get a huge scare from a claim I was not supposed to pay or be there but it appears it may have been an error on my insurance. The billing department was the best as I was worried about paying a huge amount and they helped me. Thank you SOO much Arlene from the billing department!! :) Rating: 10/5 As for the front desk lady at the sleep clinic, Rosa, she was not the best. She was "okay". She did answer my questions but I was obviously worried about a statement claim that I was not suppose to pay. Rosa, was impatient, had tone, and was rude. I did read some reviews saying staff is rude so I wonder if this is connected. Rosa, did not let me finish and interru

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Madison St. Medical
What does Madison St. Medical do?
Madison St. Medical is a sleep medicine clinic in Oak Park, IL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Madison St. Medical?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Madison St. Medical directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Madison St. Medical?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Madison St. Medical?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
