First, they really need to work on their meals. My mom was there for two weeks. Half the time the vegetables were so hard it was like they were straight from the garden, and they didn't cook them. Some of the meat was so tough or chewy that she couldn't eat it at all. I finally asked for soup for her, and it tasted like they threw vegetables and noodles into a cup of water. No broth and no flavor! Many things are not what I would consider appropriate for someone who is ill. Plain chicken broth and a cheese toastie would have been more appropriate. Second, we were surprised at the last minute when they said they were discharging my mom the following day, and we needed a care plan. This was a very rushed and stressful process because my mom is still ill, weak, and can barely walk. Communica

Very difficult to reach doctor offices. Staff do not know what insurance covers. Joyce Bell NP refused a telehealth appt. even though elderly patient has mobility issues. Insurance does cover telehealth.

They double bill for visits by coding items differently, hoping insurance and patient doesn't pick up on it. Their new phone system makes it impossible to talk to your doctors office staff. There is a reason why IU Heath is coming into area hot, Lutheran is running all patients away. To make matters worse, previous Dr. disappeared a couple of months back. Dr. who took over understandably wants to see you before renewing prescriptions. So I go in and meet with him. He is very concerned about my blood pressure (been on same medication for this for 25 years). I tell him those numbers are normal for me. He asks me to take blood pressure daily and keep a log of it, and that he would renew my prescription. I have spent the last 4 days trying to get this prescription now as I have been out for 2

I have been following the protocol for getting a prescription refilled for a week now. We got a letter stating our Dr was leaving Oct 17. That was not true, she has not been available since before Oct 1, I do not blame her she has the right to go wherever it is best for her but then just be honest and tell her patients she is unavailable as of this letter (NOW. )I was told other Drs in the practice would refill our prescriptions until we have established a new Dr. I have called left messages, talked to 4 different human representatives who have marked my request Urgent, noted that I would like a call back either way, if script can’t be filled or has been called in , my pharmacy has sent a fax to the Dr office and made calls on my behalf. All of this over a week long period. I feel I have

I went to the emergency because I was having a severe headache with mild chest pain. As soon as they found out that I was on Medicaid the doctor dismissed my concerns as simply migraines and I would be okay. I was diagnosed with a meningioma tumor back in 2019. The doctor at the family practice on 750 broadway scheduled me for an MRI it was done at St. Joe hospital at the time. They found the meningioma. I have been getting dizzy with severe headaches I want another MRI to see if the tumor has grown. I was never put on a treatment plan they haven’t monitored it at all. I’m experiencing medical gaslighting they treat me like I’m crazy it’s not right or fair it’s been five almost six years and they refuse to check it for growth they won’t help me until I pass out why won’t they check me to a

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Lutheran Health Network
What does Lutheran Health Network do?
Lutheran Health Network is a sleep medicine clinic in Fort Wayne, IN that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Lutheran Health Network?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Lutheran Health Network directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Lutheran Health Network?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Lutheran Health Network?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
