So to start off, this really says something considering i usually do not leave negative reviews. An immediate family member of mine is in the senior psychiatric unit and called me earlier this morning, i mentioned it to my sibling and she told me call the number my family member called me from stating that she called it when she missed a call from her and asked for the senior physchiatric unit and the receptionist/operator whoever answered the phone transferred her to i guess the nurse at the unit she asked for and then was able to ask for who she wanted to speak to and was told as long as there is a phone available, they can speak to her. Well, i finally tried calling back the phone number my family member, the patient, called me from. Well, from the start the operator who answered the ph

-10*, if it allowed that option. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. I've been to the ER twice and was misdiagnosed both times. I was admitted to ICU once and that whole thing was a nightmare. Misdiagnosed, they documented my medication allergy wrong and so so many other mistakes. I was sent there by eye specialist for brain mri to check for ms lesions due to optic neuritis and symptoms. The report we got back was no lesions, normal mri. Which obviously was a relief, unfortunately symptoms continued. Was given a referral to neurology lvhn pottsville. Was told my eye dr was wrong I didn't have optic neuritis, mri was normal it is migraine. Was told Nurtec would solve all my symptoms. It didn't and that episode of symptoms lasted 11 months! Fast forward I get new pcp not at lvhn a

Today is January 12, 2026, my 29 year old son was brought here by his Parole Officers around 11 am. My son needs a psych evaluation for mental services. He is suicidal and Homicidal and has PTSD. It is now 6:15pm and he hasn't been seen by anyone. He has come on his own to be committed to a inpatient facility for intensive counselling, he has a personality disorder when he wakes up from a deep sleep, screaming, swearing and destroying the place. He needs help. Just now around 6 the nurse said he has to provide a urine sample or he will not be seen. My son just went to the bathroom, so he cannot provide, my guess is that he will not be seen tonight or ever, so I'll take my chances and bring him home and hope he doesn't kill us in our sleep. The cops can't do anything unless the

I came into the ER in labor and was quickly checked in and sent up to labor and delivery. The nurses, doctors and midwife were all incredible. Made me extremely comfortable and walked me through everything I needed to know. Very responsive to calls for assistance, and willing to teach you if you need help. Would recommend this hospital for delivery.

Had an absolutely horrible experience at this hospital from Saturday night into Sunday morning. I brought my brother in with severe pain, literally writhing in agony, and from the moment we arrived, the care was inhuman. At the front desk, instead of focusing on the emergency, they were demanding that he speak, even though he was clearly in too much pain to talk. When I gave his date of birth, the receptionist insisted he looked familiar and claimed he had been there before, even though that was not true, and she had a condescending, unprofessional attitude. The nurses were just as rude and insensitive. At one point, we overheard a call from an ambulance reporting that a 47-year-old woman had been hit in the head with a revolver. One of the nurses started mocking the situation, saying “s

For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Frequently asked questions about Lehigh Valley Hospital -Schuylkill

What does Lehigh Valley Hospital -Schuylkill do?

Lehigh Valley Hospital -Schuylkill is a sleep medicine clinic in Pottsville, PA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Lehigh Valley Hospital -Schuylkill?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Lehigh Valley Hospital -Schuylkill directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Lehigh Valley Hospital -Schuylkill?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Lehigh Valley Hospital -Schuylkill?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
