I love this hospital. I’ve had good experiences with every department I’ve been to. My appointment yesterday was no different. The check in desk for the sleep clinic were friendly and fun! So rare to have people who enjoy their job. As other employees came by, their greetings showed the friendly atmosphere here. The medical assistant was friendly and did a good job taking down my concerns. Dallin Wright is amazing! Such a good listener! He was familiar with my history with this particular problem, and he had actually read the notes the assistant had written, so that I didn’t have to repeat it all again. So nice! He had all the information at his fingertips and was able to show me on the ASV report what he was talking about. He encouraged me to keep up the good things I’m already doing. So

Doctor Iqbal was fantastic! This was probably one of my best healthcare experiences ever. He listened to me, was very knowledgeable, and really made me feel like my thoughts and opinions mattered. His office was easy to find and the medical staff was so helpful and courteous. I highly recommend IHC sleep medicine for all of your sleep care and treatment.

I can’t say enough about my experience at Layton Parkway Sleep Center to be honest. We would be here all day if I could express all my sentiments about the experience. However, I did want to share the key details, from excellent checking in service from from desk staff (you’ll have to forgive me for forgetting his name) to the stellar performance nurse or perhaps med tech Hailey—I believe is her name—transitioning me to the care of my provider (DW) Dallin Wright smoothly and quickly. Dallin was just as professional and friendly; while being laid back enough to allow me to express my concerns in a safe environment. Absolutely amazing ecosystem of fantastic people who are amazing at their jobs and deserve every praise they can get. I feel heard and like I will have my health concerns address

This is funny a week prior to this appointment we received a call from the sleep center stating the doctor will be away on the day of our scheduled appointment and we video call could be available with a intern. I pressed this OK excuse me this is our scheduled appointment and you call us a week prior, so I said when can we reschedule. She said the next date is in June. I again pressed this and said why are calling us within a week, and the give me a date in June. She backtracked and said OK, we will leave the appointment and we will see who is available. We went to the appointment and our doctor was there, and I informed him of this call. He said he does not understand as I am here, and had no other plans. So we continued, so I do not know what your scheduling people are trying t

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Layton Hospital Sleep Center
What does Layton Hospital Sleep Center do?
Layton Hospital Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Layton, UT that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Layton Hospital Sleep Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Layton Hospital Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Layton Hospital Sleep Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Layton Hospital Sleep Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
