Absolutely hands down the BEST hospital for children. We have had nothing but a wonderful experience with every single person we come in contact with at John's Hopkins, each and every time we are there. We found ourselves in a very unfortunate situation last year, arriving by ambulance and teceuving a devastating diagnosis fir our child. The staff have been nothing short of amazing. They are truly incredible oeople who care about the work they do. From the emergency department to the PICU to the inpatient and outpatient oncology team, social workers, to the CRU, chemo nurses, even the staff in the cafeteria and pharmacy literally EVERYONE AT JHACH is top-notch. Every single person has been absolutely a Godsend to our family. We have nothing but good things to say and we feel so very bless

Managing a chronic illness like Crohn’s disease is an exhausting journey, but having a medical home at Johns Hopkins All Children’s in St. Petersburg has made all the difference in my quality of life. I am at the hospital every single month for my Remicade infusions, and I have been admitted for inpatient stays several times as well. Throughout every visit, the consistency and compassion of the staff have been nothing short of life-changing. There is a level of patient advocacy here that you just don't find everywhere. Individuals like Lesley and Kaitlyn, along with the incredible expertise of Dr. Dumois and Dr. Trillo, consistently go out of their way to ensure I am not just a number on a chart, but a person whose voice and comfort actually matter. There are so many more nurses and specia

We love our few specialists and Alicia the MDA clinic coordinator is amazing. Wish Dr. Newsome in MD would see my kid for Stiff Person Syndrome. Still not sure why when we’re already at your hospital you can’t make that happen. You would have more stars if you could.

We absolutely are so happy with the care that Maddie receives at the Infusion Center. Every employee has been so nice from the front desk to the nurses! They know Maddie by name. They know her personality and that she has a hard time with sensory issues and a very hard time getting her IV in. They are patient and kind. They make sure we all are comfortable and happy! We can’t ask for anything better!

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the care provided was centered on the patient. ( first point of contact - LaQuenta) It was some of the best care I’ve ever witnessed. Every decision, every interaction,& every act of kindness reflected a genuine commitment to doing what was best for for my daughter. From check in to check out your care, empathy, excellence shined through every interaction. It made the difficult time a more manageable one, and helped me to relax and feel, know, and see she was in good hands ! Thank you to Dr Fitzgerald and his team for your exceptional work! And shot out to 7north - Mia RN( daytime nurse ) and Lily RN ( night nurse ) for working as a team. Xoxo

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital Sleep Center

What does Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital Sleep Center do?

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Saint Petersburg, FL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
