I am shocked to read the negative comments! Yesterday morning (6/29/26) a family member of mine was discharged from another hospital ER to go home. She was still not feeling well and was not safe at home. We attempted to get her home and ended up having to call the ambulance to take her to the hospital. This time we had her taken to HHH. She recieved nothing but competent and compassionate care in the ER. When it was determined she was unable to go home, but not ill enough to be admitted, the ER staff went above and beyond to ensure her comfort for an extended stay in the ER until arrangements could be made. For those of you who have complained, maybe you should check out a QC ER!

I had to take my husband to Henry-Hammond Hospital ER on a Sunday for a tumble he took down a ravine. He had a head abrasion and cuts around the ear they stitched and ran a scan on his head to make sure he didn’t have a concussion. We can’t say enough about how professional the staff was from the front desk admin to the nurses, doctor and X-ray team. They were all compassionate folks and we appreciate their time and how quickly we were released.

Absolute worst hospital I have ever been to. Every visit has been terrible. Not only me but every person I’ve talked to has nothing good to say about it. If you want you or your loved ones to be okay or live DO NOT COME HERE! Worst staff ever. One in particular should 100% be fired. she works in the er and should not have a job. So rude and took 10 mins even to get my name (no other patients) nothing was urgent about it. They don’t care if you're bleeding out. For your own safety do NOT come here. There is no point in this hospital even being here you’re better off never going to a hospital if this is the one you go to.

My recent visit to the emergency room at Hammond Henry Hospital was extremely disappointing. The staff, from the nurses to Dr. Stephanie, were rude and disrespectful. They showed no compassion or empathy during my time there. One particular staff member even refused to show her name badge and deliberately flipped it so I couldn’t see her name, despite my multiple requests. This lack of professionalism and courtesy was unacceptable. I expected much better care and treatment, and I hope the hospital addresses these issues to improve their service for future patients.

Absolute worst place I’ve ever been to. The staff is ridiculously mean and there’s so many different groups that if you don’t fit in, they pick on you. Then they get mad that you refuse to be bullied. I would never come back here, I hope this place gets shut down in the near future.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Hammond Henry Hospital
What does Hammond Henry Hospital do?
Hammond Henry Hospital is a sleep medicine clinic in Geneseo, IL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Hammond Henry Hospital?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Hammond Henry Hospital directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Hammond Henry Hospital?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Hammond Henry Hospital?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
