Effective communication, mutual respect, patience, and attentive listening are essential components of a strong physician-patient relationship. Unfortunately, my first visit with Dr. Siddiqui did not meet these expectations. He arrived more than 30 minutes late to the scheduled appointment without offering an explanation or apology. During the consultation, I felt that my concerns were not fully heard, and the interaction lacked empathy and attentiveness. Medications and tests I had previously undergone were ordered again without sufficient discussion. Despite experiencing difficulty breathing, I left the appointment feeling rushed and overlooked. I plan to seek care from another provider within the practice. Patients deserve to feel heard and respected and this should be a standard.

The entire staff was just amazing!! Front desk, medical assistant, the doctor, check out and pharmacy was just the best! I felt like I been there plenty of times but nope it was my first time. Very professional and welcoming. I felt like I was in good hands. I’m a respiratory therapist and let me tell you, just when I thought I knew a lot about OSA there was more to learn. The doctor explain everything and asked all the right questions that I didn’t have to ask any. Thanks again! I’m so glad to be part of this group.

DR. PRASAD S. GARIMELLA was negatively judgmental and shared those thoughts while mocking my/our sleep and lifestyle patterns during the initial appointment (survey and questionnaire session) in front of another doctor/staff member and my spouse. Made sarcastic comments, random sighs and scoffs, shook his head, and made demeaning perplexed facial expressions after some of my responses. Very unprofessional and condescending. Did not want to return to him as my doctor cos he made me & my spouse feel bad about our lifestyle/sleep habits. Also on the visit report, he wrote lies. He wrote that he advised the patient (me) this or that when he never did. My spouse was witness that what he wrote on the report didn’t actually happen during the visit. When I asked for a new doctor for follow-up, h

Great practice. Doctors were exceptional and explained things clearly and made sure I understood them before moving on. I love the virtual check-ins the day prior especially for new patients. Reduced day of paperwork considerably. Would highly recommend!

I was very pleased with the office and staff. It was my first appointment. I needed an in home sleep study and my insurance required authorization but the office called and got it while I was there rather than having me come back for a second appointment. The Dr was very nice and very understanding and the staff were very professional

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Gwinnett Sleep

What does Gwinnett Sleep do?

Gwinnett Sleep is a sleep medicine clinic in Lawrenceville, GA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Gwinnett Sleep?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Gwinnett Sleep directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Gwinnett Sleep?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Gwinnett Sleep?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
