There aren't enough glowing words or superlatives to truly capture how exceptional this place is. Jared stands head and shoulders above any other technician I've encountered. From the initial handshake to saying goodbye, the entire experience was seamless and stress-free. His professionalism is a rare find nowadays. Parking is plentiful, conveniently close to the highway, and easy to locate. Highly recommended indeed.

Beware. This is the 2nd sleep study I've done and the 2nd time after they collect there 60 bucks to tell me it failed. Then asked if i wanted to come in for an overnight. I've worked at Verizon for 5 years and consider myself pretty comfortable with phones and electronics. This was not user error. This was thier machine error and should credit me back for thier electronic machine erroring. I suggest not doing a at home sleep study and bad business on thier end for not working with me on this. Take your business elsewhere. Its a scam

This was my best trip into your office. The woman at the desk who took care of me joked right off the bat and made me relax. My appointment was with Sara. Since this was my first time seeing her, I told her my bad experiences I have had and told her my situation. She listen genuinely and let me tell my side of the story. I liked her very much and appreciated her kindness. I only want to see her in the future. Thank you for making me feel better about Ghaly!

This is the most incompetent and irresponsible doctor I’ve ever visited. I have a very severe chronic sleep disorder, I get an average of 1-4 hours of sleep a night and have been dealing with this for almost a year. This has had a severe impact on my physical and mental health obviously. I booked an appointment 6.5 months ago they put me on a 6 month wait, the appointment lasted 5 minutes and the office was literally empty. The appointment itself was a series of yes/no questions that, again, lasted 5 minutes. They said they’d contact me within the week to schedule a sleep study, fine whatever, they contact me 1.5 weeks later to tell me the soonest sleep study appointment is in July. This level of disregard for patients lives and complete lack of care is genuinely shocking and frankly

I recently completed an overnight sleep study and had an excellent experience. The employees were friendly, professional, and explained every step of the process clearly, which made me feel very comfortable. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and everything was well organized. Overall, the entire experience went very smoothly and I would highly recommend the Ghaly Sleep Center to anyone needing a sleep study.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Ghaly Sleep Center
What does Ghaly Sleep Center do?
Ghaly Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in East Syracuse, NY that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Ghaly Sleep Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Ghaly Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Ghaly Sleep Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Ghaly Sleep Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
