I started going here because you could get in so quickly after just over a year now they are booking several months out. And the receptionist is horrible. She is moody and snippy every single time I call or go in. Front Desk is the face of your business and first impression and she’s always so nasty and rude. These 2 things combined might be time to start looking for another doctor. Sucks because I love the doctor!!!!

Wanted to get onboarded to become a new patient. There is no online scheduling or intake form, only a phone number to call. Called phone number and had to sit though the annoying computer voice attendant spout every small fact about them since 1929 in the most annoying high-pitched chipper voice, as if I'm at NASCAR or listening to a sleezy TV commercial. I just hung up the phone. Lost business over antiquated technology and dumb VoIP programming.

The providers are very good here. However, when it comes to calling and making an appointment or talking to any of the ladies in the front desk, it seems to be an issue. I called to make an appointment and unfortunately had to wait over 30 minutes for someone just to answer the phone and when they do it almost feels like an inconvenience that you’re calling. I do understand they probably are busy however the attitude feels very hostile.

I understand things happen and I'm very accommodating. However this morning the front office was quite rude. They have had to reschedule my appointments more than once on me. I understand things happen. I was very accommodating both times they've had to reschedule my appointments. However because my appointment was rescheduled a month out from my original appointment. I nicely asked " May I get in contact with my doctor, because I have a pertinent medical question to ask my neurologist, I don't want it to wait a month until my rescheduled appointment" Well whomever I was on the phone with laughed rudely and replied "She won't be here the rest of the week and I have no way of contacting her" before rudely hanging up on me. She didn't even let me respond nor did she even end our co

Everything that’s been said about rescheduling appointments is true. They called me the day of my appointment to reschedule because the doctor is not going to be in. I will just continue my search for a doctor who has availability.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health

What does Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health do?

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is a sleep medicine clinic in Brandon, FL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
