Wonderful experience each and every time I attend my appointments. Dr. Poynter has been a wonderful provider. I have felt safe, comfortable, heard, and overall so thankful to his service and care. The way each provider/team member educates you throughout the visit is insane! You are not just another number on the list. You get 100% excellent care when you visit this location. I want to give a special thank you to provider Dalal for explaining everything in detail, during my first-ever allergy test and treating me with kindness and respect. Best ENT in Tampa that I’ve found (and it took almost 8yrs of trying to find a good office).

This review is for the allergy shot department of Florida ENT. I have been getting allergy shots for about a year now and the staff is courteous and speedy. Dalal, who has been administering the majority of my shots during the time is phenomenal. She is kind, understanding, and above all - she genuinely cares about her patients. It’s never fun getting shots, but her attitude and dedication to her patients makes it so much better.

Unfortunately, my experience with this ENT office has been very disappointing. After my first appointment, the doctor ordered a CT scan. I completed the scan and made sure the results were sent to the office, but no one contacted me with the results. My husband went to the office several times to ask about them and explained that I was in significant pain, but we still received no response. We waited about a month and a half for a follow-up appointment. When I finally saw the doctor, I was referred to another specialist, but the referral paperwork was never sent. For the past two days, I have been calling the office repeatedly to request the referral documents required by the second doctor. No one answers the phone, and despite leaving several voicemail messages, I have not received any

extremely dissatisfied with how they handle themselves. Appointment was scheduled for 10:30 and arrived at parking garage at 10:20. called at 10:37 that i still hadnt found a spot and that I was here. receptionist said there is a 15 minute wait time but you are already checked in so dont worry. Walk into the office at 10:45 and receptionist says the computer says 10:46 your appointment is cancelled.

Dalal was absolutely wonderful at my allergy shot appointment. She was professional, kind, and made the whole process feel quick and easy. She explained everything clearly, made sure I was comfortable, and handled the appointment with confidence and care. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients. Appointments like this are so much better when you’re treated with patience and warmth, and Dalal delivered exactly that. Highly recommend her.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Florida E.N.T. & Allergy
What does Florida E.N.T. & Allergy do?
Florida E.N.T. & Allergy is a sleep medicine clinic in Tampa, FL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Florida E.N.T. & Allergy?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Florida E.N.T. & Allergy directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Florida E.N.T. & Allergy?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Florida E.N.T. & Allergy?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
