called to let them know I have to go to the emergency room when wife gets home at 7:30 from work since nurse hotline advised it after I began bruising on sides, legs, and front abdomen morning of appointment. I advised I would probably end up missing the appt at 8:30 because of this and that I can provide a note from the hospital, because it IS short notice. “$350 no show fee even with doctor note” Office appears to prey upon those having legitimate medical emergencies, out of spite or maybe the attending physician misheard the Hippocratic Oath taken by medical school graduates (at most schools). Photos attached show what I mean by bruising.

Had my sleep study done here and the tech was great, and that’s about all. I’ve been waiting on my results for over a month as well has my doctor. Multiple calls have been made requesting my results and i was told that they were putting them in the mail as we spoke, well that’s been over 3 weeks now and no one will answer the phone or return calls after leaving messages. I would not recommend this facility to anyone and i will also be making a complaint to the VA as to not use them anymore. Such a lack of professional standard by the office manager.

My recent visit to the Sleep Center exceeded all expectations. The facility was spotlessly clean, and the staff's professionalism was evident at every step. The technicians were highly skilled and attentive, making me feel completely at ease during my sleep study. The sleep specialist provided excellent follow-up care, thoroughly explaining my results. The entire experience reflected a top-tier medical facility committed to patient care. I would highly recommend!

My husband did a sleep study here via referral. The study was supposed to be faxed back to his military primary care doctor. It never was so 1 year later I had to come back and get the sleep study. Upon pick up I noticed immediately his weight was completely wrong. They had marked him 60 lbs over weight!! He has NEVER weighed that in his life. If anyone knew his particular line of work, they would know not a single man that does what he does is out of shape much less overweight!! The tech that did his study wrote down the wrong weight and it has been a nightmare to get corrected. None of his medical paperwork matches the weight on this sleep study so the study is being flagged! I have offered to provide proof of his weight from a year ago around the time he got the study done as he had oth

Overall the sleep study was fine. The person doing it ended up leaving my TV on all night and it was so bright. Good breakfast in the morning, and it was comfortable. However, I can’t get them to fax my results to my primary and it’s been over 2 weeks. I can’t sleep and need my results to figure out next steps. They won’t answer voicemails or emails and I’m just annoyed. They apparently told my primary it will be another 10 days after they “faxed” it after I’ve already waited over 2 weeks for them. I’m just over it all.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Chattahoochee Sleep Center

What does Chattahoochee Sleep Center do?

Chattahoochee Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Columbus, GA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Chattahoochee Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Chattahoochee Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Chattahoochee Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Chattahoochee Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
